They heading off to plan at Wembely this weekend is anyone going to watch? The Dolphins are shite it will probably be a really boring game. Apperently if the game does well, each team will play at least one game outside the US i really think this will flop badly.

American football is the worst 'sport' i have ever seen. How any1 can pay to watch that shit is unbelievable! I dunno why they playing at wembley just to muck up the pitch more. There might be a few idiots in london who just fancy a day out.
I decided to watch the superbowl last year after so many people stateside were hyping it up, after 5 minutes i was bored like hell! They have a tea break every 2minutes and its so stop start! Id rather watch the scousers play then pay for this!
British sport >>>> American sport

I'm surprised they're going back to Europe after NFL Europe failed to do well.

NFL Computer games are realy good and after gaining more understanding of the rules and tactics it's become slighty easier to watch but still not the greatest sport to watch. It's funny to think that our sports don't really take off in America, especially rugby, I would have thought the Americans would love that.
RY What American sports are you a fan of? A proper fan?

None they all have to fit in a thousand commercial breaks so its hard to get into the game, I have been to a few baseball games that werent bad but the down time just watching people coming off and on the feild is killer.

To be honest, I really can't stand American Football. Some American come over to England years and years ago, went 2 watch a game of rugby, was quite impressed so thought he'd have a go at it back home but was too scared to get hurt so had to cover himself in padding and so....the excuse of the game that is american football was born lol Wembleys for good sports only! lol

I haven't been a proper fan of any American sport for about 1 year now, but prior to that I was a fan of baseball - a Yankees fan. I used to go to Yankees games from when I was a boy as the stadium was not far from when I grew up. Throughout the 80s the Yankees were rubbish but the atmosphere was good at the stadium since we entertained ourselves by harassing the opposition players. Once the Yanks became successful ticket prices went up and the atmosphere started changing, I still went but became dismayed at how much more of a corporate presence there was. As a sport baseball started losing me because of the steroids scandal and as a Yankees fan the over hyped Red Sox/Yanks rivalry which lost it's punch since we were being beaten over the head with it. The Yanks started blowing loads of money on big name players and things have gone down hill since then. Other American sports don't interest me oddly enough, least of all American football.

Fair enough, Baseball isn't a sport really anyway. American sports are pretty poor but basketball is a good one, you can't really knock that as a sport and Ice hockey is brilliant aswell. Us Brits aren't much better though, we consider snooker and darts a sport and as a nation will sit for hours watching it.

As far as athleticism goes baseball doesn't compare with other sports and can often look to be more of a game than a sport, but it's fun in its own way because it's more strategic. Darts I never quite understood the point of watching unless I'm in a pub playing and enjoying some pints, same for snooker. Basketball lost me years ago after the game became more about individual skill rather than team effort and strategic play.

American football shouldn't even be called that, since it's not actually played with your feet It's just a bunch of bulky rowdy lads fighting each other, and occasionally they remember that there is a ball they're supposed to throw And as for baseball, I went to a minor league game when I was in the US. I was quite excited about it, since I'm really into all kinds of sports, but I ended up spending one of the most boring few hours in my life! If it hadn't been for the beer, I dunno how I would've lasted through the entire thing ;D

Ah well i'm going to break the trend; i quite like American football and make a point of following the Lions even though they are crap.
I don't see the idea working, American football still hasn't taken off in Europe and due to the popularity of plenty of other sports probably never will (much like the chances of football in America). Saying that, American football is becoming more popular to play at university in the UK.
Not bothered about Basketball and Baseball. I am a huge fan of that Canadian sport Ice Hockey.

altho i do understand american 'football' i hope it never takes off over here, its good once you know the rules but theres way too much stop and starting in the play and i regard it as an individual sport cos the players are init to make there stats look good and christ almighty is it stats orientated but above all that it infuriates me beyond belief why they call it football its nothing of the sort and have the audacity to call our beautiful game soccer, thats my beef with it o yer one more point in all of there sports why the hell after the big game do they call themselves world champions when they only play another american team or in hockey canadian team

I have never heard the NHL champions be called the world champions, they are the Stanley Cup champions. However, it wouldn't be a stretch to refer to themselves as the best team in the world as all the best hockey players play in North America. altho i do understand american 'football' i hope it never takes off over here, its good once you know the rules but theres way too much stop and starting in the play and i regard it as an individual sport cos the players are init to make there stats look good and christ almighty is it stats orientated but above all that it infuriates me beyond belief why they call it football its nothing of the sort and have the audacity to call our beautiful game soccer, thats my beef with it o yer one more point in all of there sports why the hell after the big game do they call themselves world champions when they only play another american team or in hockey canadian team
