We probably sacred Roma with our last ixture against Aston Villa. The whole team is on form and we should go to Roma being rather confident. The team is playing well and it will finally come down to the tactics that Sir Alex Ferguson deploys.
This is my starting XI: Van der sar
Brown...........Ferdinand.........Vidic...........Evra
..................Hargreaves..........Carrick............
..................................Anderson.........................
Ronaldo....................................................Nani
................................Rooney..............................
Nani should start depending on whether he is fit or not. Scholes played 90 mins so i don't know if he'll start. If Tevez starts then we should expect the front three to interchange positions throughout the match. Carrick will play his normal role, dictating play, and hargreaves will protect the back four from Mancini and Totti. Anderson should have licence to kill.
Roma to play a familiar formation: 4-2-3-1 Whether they come at us or be very cautious because of our form is to be seen on Sunday.
Prediction: Manchester United 3-2 AS Roma. Scorers: Vidic 39', Rooney 45', Nani 76' Guily 26', Mancini 56'

Doubt Scholes or Giggs will play,
VDS(is he fit?) Brown Rio Vidic Evra Ronaldo Nani Anderson Hargreaves Carrick Rooney
Tevez, and Park will come on for Carrick and Nani.
Regular back 5, with Hargreaves should be solid enough, and Carrick will be in the middle dictating play, playing passes through to Anderson, Ronnie, Rooney and Nani!!!
That front 4 will wreak havoc freely!!!!
Bring on those Iti bastards!!!!
P.S- Apparently some people I know who are going are wearing Free the Roma 4 badges and T-Shirts. Anyone on here going you can buy the badges off E-bay for £5.

Just said on Sky Sports News that Totti is out of the game on tuesday. This is a massive blow to Roma as he is top scorer, captain and the alround leader of a young team. Good news!

Juan is almost certain to miss out. Totti is rumoured to be struggling with a strain, but came through their last match unscathed. Perotta misses the first leg through suspension though.

This is a case of 'call my bluff'; both teams (and team websites/papers) are claiming injuries in a ploy to keep the other team guessing.
The United website claimed that VDS, Rio, Carrick, Giggs and Evra are all injured. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see all these guys in the team on Tuesday evening.
This will be a tough game regardless of the team that Roma puts out. I will be happy with a 2-2 draw, as away goals are key in this competition. We have to take Roma back to OT with a healthy chance of progressing

We're in good form but i wouldn't play 2 up front like we did against Villa. Pack the midfield and stop them from playing, then nick a goal or 2.
VDS Brown Rio Vidic Evra Hargreaves Carrick Scholes Ronaldo Nani Rooney
Usual back 5. I'd have Carrick and Hargreaves holding with Scholes ahead of them dictating play. Nani and Ronaldo supporting Rooney. Just need to make sure that Rooney stays upfront and doesn't get drawn back into midfield.

The ITV advert for this game is brilliant. If anyone can find it on youtube get it up on here! It flashes back to the last seasons 7.1 and then remarks, "scores twill be settled", but with some great music making it sound like a horror film, I actually think it is from the opening scene from the shinning. Sets the tone for the game brilliantly. VDS Brown - Rio - Vidic - Evra Carrick Anderson - Scholes Ronaldo - Rooney -Tevez
I think thats the best team at the moment. Was really impressed with the way we set up the middle 3 against Liverpool. I think that system is set up perfectly for a tough away trip to Italy. I can see us winning one nil in the end. 1:0 Rooney

Oh it's those lovely Roma boys again and again and AGAIN. They're a good side but I think we have the momentum to beat them, though my guess is that it will be tight. a full strength squad for sure and I suspect we'll be sticking with 4-5-1 as per usual in Europe. Giggs and Scholes will come in handy if things aren't going our way as I don't see them starting given Nani and Anderson's form of late.
