You were watching a different game to the one i was watching today. Carrick provided an excellent assist for Ronaldo's opener, he covered back defensively and cleared a shot off the line preventing Boro from scoring, he played Rooney into a goalscoring position in the first half and generally his passing was good.

Agreed, Carrick was yet again one of the best players on the park today. He was awful first half of the season, but second half he's been one of our best. Don't agree with the way Giggs has been talked about on this forum tbh. I too agree he isn't good enough anymore, but fucking ell. I heard nicer stuff said about ol K-Rich. Park excellently created Rooney's goal vs Roma midweek and did the same again today. With Nani out, Park should be the starting player over Ryan now. Giggs is just playing too many games and he can't handle it anymore, sadly.

Giggs should be taken out back and shot. Giggsy will always be a United legend as far as i'm concerned, i do agree with what people are saying on here, he just hasn't played well for some time, he seems to be losing possession of the ball quite a bit these days and he's not getting any younger. But to say 'Giggs should be taken out back and shot' is just unnecessary. This guy's played 750 games for the club and he's scored 143 goals for United, if there's one thing he deserves from us it's respect. Nobody should be immune from criticism including Giggs, but there's no need to be derogatory about him.

Not the result we were looking for and makes a victory over Arsenal vital with Chelsea hosting Wigan next.
I hope Rio's not out too long, I'd not mind him missing the CL game as I think we can do without him but we need him back for next Sunday.
Ronaldo and Rooney scoring again, I hope they can keep this up until the end of the season - I always had a feeling Alves would break his duck against us.
Carrick was top today and Park again made an impact, another top assist following his one against Roma.
Luckily we have a comfortable lead from the Roma first leg as the second shouldn't take much out of us, we still have a cushion but it's no longer comfortable and victory next Sunday would send us a long way to winning the league.

Park again made an impact I agree, Ji-Sung has played quite well in the games that he's featured in, i thought he played very well today. Vital assist for Rooney's equaliser.

oshea regardless of what he did in rome is no center back But the thing is he isn't a centre-back, O'Shea's a full-back. I thought he had a poor game today, but don't forget that Sheasy is playing out of position.

just thankful we didnt lose this one. some poor performances today in giggs tevez and o shea...but i thought carrick did well and rooney as usual didnt stop working. anyone know what's up with rio yet? hopefully he's back for next weekend we're gonna need him. pretty disappointing result guys, but lets not get too pissed off and start slagging giggs off like what some have been doing. yeah he's not been on top form of late, but thats no reason to say some of the things that have been said.

just thankful we didnt lose this one. I'm thinking the same thing, i'm just thankful that we didn't manage to lose the game. I'm reasonably happy with a point because at 2-1 down, we probably would have taken a draw.

Annoying result, but I think that Middlesbrough deserved there point. I wasn't surprised that this game was a draw, bearing in mind that Boro were still up for it following there good performance last week at Chelsea. Im glad that I was right in the poll that I started in giving Pique a place in the first team squad as his introduction, short as it was, gave us some stability. Wes Brown was terrible today. For me, his worst of the season. He was all over the place, but they all were to be fair. Didn't think we would miss Vidic that much.
Ronaldo didn't play great, but he scored again, and he was constantly kicked off the park. Rooney did ok too, but I feared his temper may have resulted in him walking early. He kept his head though and scored what could be a vital equaliser. Did Tevez play? Hmmm....
Like most on here I feel that Carrick was are best player and he is having a great spell at the moment which is great. Now onto Arsenal. Big game.....

Edwin van der Sar was happy to come away from the Riverside Stadium with a point after United were given a stern test by Middlesbrough in torrid conditions.
The goalkeeper made a string of fine saves as Boro, roared on by a rare full house and inspired by Afonso Alves' double, threatened to cause an upset in a near-blizzard before Wayne Rooney’s late leveller.
Van der Sar told MUTV: “We knew it was a hard place to come. After we took the lead [through Cristiano Ronaldo] they changed their formation to 4-4-2 and created more problems for us. We didn’t have as much possession.
“We conceded a sloppy goal and then went behind, but we showed great resilience to come back into the game.”
The veteran Dutchman insists it was imperative United avoided defeat and maintained a three-point lead over Chelsea at the top of the table.
“A draw is not bad but losing was out of the question,” he said. “We want at least a three-point difference between us and them before we go to Stamford Bridge.
“The boss has already said it’s going to be very tight – it’s a three-horse race. Arsenal visit on Sunday, but Chelsea have a difficult run-in and it’s not certain that they’ll win all their games between now and the end of the season.”
I think some praise is due to VDS. This time last year he looked like he was on the way out of Utd as his mistakes against Roma and Portsmouth were really costly. But he's been excellent this season and pulled off some cracking saves yesterday. Still a great keeper and I'm glad we have him.

As I said earlier, he was fullback second half and was equally shite, causing us to bring on a midfielder at fullback!!

Anyone on this board who's also a Republic of Ireland fan could tell you O'Shea is a shite centre half. He's played there a lot for Ireland recently and has been piss poor.
