I hope to God that we go out there and attack them. If we do, I think we'll win. I don't know why people are questioning if we'll attack them? After the 0-0 result in the first leg, we've got no option BUT to attack them. We have to win the game to get through. I'm hoping that: 1. Rooney and Vidic are fit. 2. Rooney plays up front alongside Tevez, keep the lad away from the wing. 3. Park to be replaced by Anderson. 4. Ronaldo to put in a better performance and show a better attitude than he did in the first leg, it's time for him to make an impact in a Champions League semi-final. After the disappointment of the Chelsea result and the resulting after match bust-up, i'm hoping Fergie motivates and channels the players energies into getting the win. My gut feeling is that we may have to score twice tomorrow night to seal the win, i think we'll get to the final with a 2-1 victory.

ill surely piss myself with nerves ;D You'll 'piss yourself with nerves'? Funniest sentence i've seen on ROM for quite a while.

Probably a mute point, but did anyone watch the pre-match press conference? Just saw a clip on BBC News. Fergie seemed so fired up, real passion and determination in his voice. I havent heard him talk that in a long time. He clearly has the bit between his teeth, listening to him has made me so much more confident. If that rubbed off on me, then it surely will on the players.
I am expecting a big big performance tonight. As i said earlier, Vida to score a bullet of a header.

Actually i was looking at the official club site last night and i thought Fergie looked well motivated, and that was only a picture of him talking at the press conference. Personally, i think we need to play like men possessed tonight. If we play with the same intensity that we did during the 7-1 home win against Roma, we'll beat Barca. I think we need to get after them from the off, and start putting them under pressure when they're on the ball. In a funny way, i think that the defeat to Chelsea and the subsequent fisty-cuffs will probably motivate and unite the team tonight. As i've already posted, i think that we're most probably going to have to score twice tonight to get through. I can see us eventually going through.

i think the key to win this game will be an attacking game. as you can see in the shalke - barcelona games, they put barca under pressure and played the most of the time in the half of barca. shalke, if they would've had a bit of luck would have won both games. i think the reason why we didn't look that good in barca was that we just wanted to defend the 0-0. its not too bad, we have a 0-0 now and so we need to cage them in their own half and don't let them play. attack upfront on their own box. so that they never see the ball the hole game.
vds brown-ferdinand-vidic-evra ronaldo - carrick - anderson - giggs tevez - rooney
or play with hagro in midfield and just with rooney upfront. i think this is our best attacking team. i also think that anderson might be the most important man tonight.
all i want to see is that our team has fun playing.
cheers

Im not as worried as I should be tonight. Im quite relaxed. I have had a shit week personally and i'm really hoping it gets turned around. Call it a silver lining. Something has to go right for me soon enough and this could be it. A win with give me the extasy I desperatly need. A place in the Champions league final is at stake and we have only been there twice. We are not in form, but that has to be the tonic to get us through. We are also at home where we have won 11 Champions league games in a row. We always seem to pull it out at O.T. We are hearing a lot of noise from Barcelona while we have hardly said a word, so lets hope the mind games don't set and we can really take it too them. We can beat Barca. My team
EVDS Brown Vidic Rio Evra Anderson Hargreaves Scholes Ronaldo Tevez Rooney
If Rooney isn't fit, id play Ronaldo up front with Tevez and play Nani.
Im gonna go all out here and go for a 3-1 win. Barca may even score first, but we can turn it around. I am gutted that I missed out on the ballot because the crowd will be buzzing and could act as the 12th man. Hopefully that will see us through. Its just made for us this season with the 50th anniversary of Munich and its like a fairytale. WE CAN DO IT!!!

Deco feels United will be fearful of Barcelona's attacking capabilities in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final settler at Old Trafford.
A goalless draw in last week's first leg in the Nou Camp means United's aim is simple - win in Manchester. Conversely, Barca know a scoring draw will be enough to take them to Moscow next month.
While the Catalans' form has been far from inspirational, their unquestioned attacking thrust will have nerves jangling in Sir Alex Ferguson's side, according to Barca's Portuguese playmaker.
"The fear is with them now," Deco is quoted as saying in the News of the World. "They know if they concede at home they will have to score twice to win the semi-final. I'm optimistic."
United are widely tipped to adopt a more offensive strategy than in last week's first leg, and Deco is confident that Barca star Lionel Messi will revel in the extra space he will subsequently be afforded.
"In the first leg Messi had a lot of players on top of him when he received the ball, but he still caused problems," said Deco. "Now they have to attack us more and they will not be able to concentrate so much on covering Messi.
"When I saw that Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo were all starting on Wednesday, I thought they would pressure us high up the pitch. But they defended quite deep and can't do that at home."
i have to say im a bit afraid too of the away goal! i just hope the lads won't go to the pitch with that thought!
The away goal means diddly squat as far as i'm concerned because the players sole aim should be to score more goals than the opposition- the United way. No other way is going to get us through.
i hope in a good game with no many missed chances or balls!
Our goals have dried up in recent weeks... we ARE in trouble if Barca score! If we score first, it might settle the nerves.
The away goal means diddly squat as far as i'm concerned because the players sole aim should be to score more goals than the opposition- the United way. No other way is going to get us through. Without the away goal rule I'd agree with you Mox, but I can't help but wonder if Fergie's going to be more cautious now than before given the fact we can't afford to concede a goal.
Deco is a wanker...look it up in the Encyclopedia. The guy was a diving cunt in the first leg, along side Iniesta. I hope the refree doesn't penalise us in the second leg. It's the same ref as the one that we had in Roma last season.
The away goal means diddly squat as far as i'm concerned because the players sole aim should be to score more goals than the opposition- the United way. No other way is going to get us through. I think United have to think that way. The away goal is neither here nor there, we have to win whatever happens as it's a knockout tie, no score draw will do and so United need simply to score more than them, and that takes away the away goal threat.

I loved Fergie's press conference yesterday; he certainly appeared calm and resolute. If his demeanor does not motivate the players, I don't know what will. The loss of both Vidic and Rooney could be vital, but this could be more 'mind games' from SAF. We'll just have to wait and see. Assuming Vida and Rooney are both fit, then the following lineup would be my present choice VDS Brown - Rio - Vida - Evra Hargo Ronaldo - Carrick - Anderson Rooney - Tevez I think it is a close call between Anderson and Scholes, but I feel that Anderson has the energy and drive to unsettle the likes of Deco and Messi. Placing Hargo in front of the back four will help to break down the close passing and movement of Barca. However, I am a little concerned that SAF will go with the experience of Scholes and Giggs in favour of Anderson and Tevez; that would be a mistake as their is plenty of experience in the shape of VDS, Rio, Brown, Evra, and Hargo. Yet again, we'll have to wait and see what lineup the Great Man starts with. I certainly feel that we'll have to score at least two goals to win, but I don't care really as long as we win! One thing I am positive of is that tonight will be yet another roller-coaster ride of emotions

I've been dreading this match since Saturday, mainly because I couldn't have handled taking a loss to Chelsea and then going out of the Champions League. That said I'm feeling much more confident now, I reckon we can do it. Just as long as we play attacking football, Attack attack attack.
When it comes down to it they have the advantage of being able to score an away goal, but we're at home and we need to step up and play football the United way, if we can do that we can win it.
