Fergie mentions it all the time, and I for one think it would be brilliant if the railroad could be moved back and we could expand not only the South Stand but the quadrants too. Here is a mock up comparing the stadium now to what it could look like.

apparently if we build the stand up,enough sunlight wont get in for the grass to grow right.

If this success continues, we'll need to expand.

Fergie is very very keen on it - and always will be I doubt we'll ever reach the *ironically* heights of 100,00 - but i definitely think we'll get up to somewhere like 83/85 by filling in one of the corners

That looks bloody brilliant (minus the rugby posts!). I'd love to see Old Trafford like that.

I don't think the club is in the position to spend close to 90 million to do it folks. We do have debts to pay. I idea of old trafford at nearly 100k is an amazing thought, more amazingly it still wouldn't be enough.

it would be amazing to see OT as a bowl.... BUT - the costs of moving the rail line behind the stand would out weigh any reasonable debate by the owners.

If we got in some sort of lighting arrangement like they have at the emirates, I can't see the pitch causing too many problems. And it would be great to be bigger than Wembley...United>England in another way!

This would be nothing short of brilliant. Sadly, I don't see it happening any time soon. The costs involved are too great, considering how much we're in debt already. And even if we find the money from somewhere, the time involved to complete it would be immense. I still hope it materialises sometime in the future.
