After losingt out on his number one ranking and losing at the olympics,do u think that this is the end of the roger federer era?I am quite happy cause i"m a fan of sampras and i"m just pleased that roger certainly wont break petes record!!!He has to win 3 slams to do that.Impossible.My question, can roger win another grand slam?

I think he can. He's still an amazing tennis player, he just needs his confidence back. But he'll have to do it in the next few years.

I can't see this as the end of his career but sure is not the best year ever.
Nadal improved a lot in the last two years and beating Federer few times didn't gave to Roger the same straight mentality he used to have cos it wasn't the same anymore.
Im sure he will win another grand slam maybe not this year but we will hear from him for about 2 or 3 years.

federer has been plagued with illness all year. the man will be determined to kick ass next year.

he hasnt been fully fit this year which i think played a big part. next year will be an interesting year between him and nadal if roger can get back to full fitness. and of course not to forget djokovic coming up as well.
as for another grand slam...yes i think fedex definitely still has what it takes. i expect to see him come close in the US open and i think he'll definitely win smth next year.

All players go through slumps, and Federer is extraordinary in the sense that his streak went for so long. Great players don't just disappear like that: that said, I would bet against him meeting Pete's record: Nadal is on fire at the moment.
On another note, did anyone watch the Blake - Young match? Wonderful match. Young was unlucky not to nick it, but he is only 19 years old now. Talent of the future.

Feder as u said has been on high levels for so long. it wouldn't been impossible for him not having a lose the n1 ranking against a nadal like that.

Looks like fedex is on course for number 13!!! depends on if Rafa reach the final.....If Nadal which is 2 sets down will be able to reach the final i can't see Roger win it. If Rafa will lose against Murray then he will win the final for sure.
