Not really. It's utterly disgusting mocking someone's death and people need to be held account for it. Not even taking into account the game was in Naples where he was basically a God, so clearly inciting a violent reaction. When Best died we'd have been fucking seething at a flag like that at OT, and rightly so. This "It's just banter" needs to stop. Playing in a country where the fans do nazi salutes to Mussolini mate. Not to mention the amount of “lizzys in a box” chants I’ve heard over the last 6 months. That's not the point though, it's the same excuse Liverpool and United fans make when Heysel and Munich songs are sung, "Well, they're doing it". Like that somehow justifies openly mocking people dying. And nazi salutes happen everywhere, some utter fuckwits were doing them in Melbourne just the other day at an anti trans rally. Doesn't mean Australia is now fair game to vile chants/flags/etc because of the actions of those twats.

Never understood the acclaim that man gets considering his behavior over the years. That being said surely you’re not upset about a flag at a game?

I was horrified when we started chanting shit about Ken Bigley after his death. But that being said I think that element of football is never going away and I’ve seen a massive amount of racist abuse hurled at England players over the last 20 years and it’s not made as much waves as a flag about a man that died years ago. Even our own fans before the euro finals were a disgrace but i don’t remember the FA wading in to take away tickets. I guess it’s the hypocrisy that gets me.

Football attracts alot of degenerates and its pretty hard to rectify that problem. Anybody who goes out of their way to fly to naples to insult a dead person has got bigger problems than football.

Just on the England game last night (I know many of you don't care!) but was I seeing things or did Maguire fuck up for their goal?
I could have sworn he lost control of the ball, dived in and then was out of position when they scored - something I have seen him do for United more than once...
...I just read that some people thought he played well...clearly watching a different match...

Didn't see it but what you have described is textbook Harry Maguire. English media also always push the narrative that he played well with the clapping seals regurgitate so it was probably 100% his error.

Memphis Depay is quite possibly one of the worst footballers I’ve ever seen in my life. Weghorst is clear!

My son in law was just in Buenos Aires and went to a game. The fans sang for the whole 90 minutes in a so-so performance and he said it was electric and incredible!
So jealous of that experience…

He was also the bloke from Burnley that got sacked for organising the "White Lives Matter" plane. The biggest tragedy in all this is that he was baby sat in a secret hotel by the Italian and English police before being flown home. Should have let him make his own way back through Naples.
