Anyone watch the England Brazil snooze fest tonight? 🥱 Yep. It was pretty awful but I thought Kobbie looked just as relaxed there as anywhere else. Probably better than Gallagher… But not much to go on really… |

Anyone watch the England Brazil snooze fest tonight? 🥱 I was at Wembley with a few mates, one of whom is Brazilian. Good fun but no thanks to the football, England were shite and Brazil better but not by a ton. Gallagher made 24 passes in 75 minutes. In central midfield. Shouldn’t be near the next several squads. My God what a dreadful stat for a midfielder. By comparison, Mainoo got 20 in 15 minutes. The crowd were delighted when he came on, not just United fans that were excited by him. |

Gallagher is absolute muck. File with chilwell. Neither would get into our team(I’d sooner have victor there than chilwell). As said Brazil edged an average game but even non English Utd fans should be wanting England to have a good tournament so waistcoat gets a new contract. |

A midfield of Rice, Mainoo and Bellingham would be able to take on all-comers in the competition. Front three picks itself (Saka, Kane, Foden) and is also stellar.
Even with a pretty suspect defence England should be able to outscore everyone they play against.
But the problem is that Southgate is far too cautious so we never really put teams to the sword and then it is inevitable that every time we come up against a good team they are more ruthless and capitalize.
But yeah we need him to have another easy run to the semis or finals so he enjoys the collective love of the nation and extends his contract.
One good thing is he is refusing to discuss his future until after the World Cup and SJR is quite clear that he wants to plan for the summer so isn't going to want to wait that long.

There was something really wholesome about Endrick saying one of his idols was Bobby Charlton and to score and play at Wembley was special for that reason.

If Jim wants him it will be done before the tournament, similar to Van Gaal, Southgate can waffle all about focus all he wants, they aren’t announcing a manager a few weeks before the summer tour. Unless they’re really stupid. If he does better than expected he might want a new challenge, let’s hope that involves West Ham, his level. Not us. |
