no defense means no world title man. That was a poor choice of opponent, we all know khan has no defence so putting him in there with a powerful puncher was insane. Khan has loads of talent people so its a set back but I'm sure he'll be back.

I like how the bitching post fight has been over the choice of opponent- who chose a half decent boxer instead of the usual has-been road sweeper that Khan fights, the fighter or the promoter. Obviously the promoter wouldn't do that!
It's the usual presentation over substance approach- let a guy fight 20 road sweepers and win easily and then go, 'look at his record! isn't it great! this guy is the real deal'. Instead of building up a misrepresenting record, the boxer should be made to actually fight someone early in their career to see if they are up to it.

Lesson to be learnt for decent British Olympic boxers: when you go pro you no longer have a padded head guard to protect a glass jaw.

It's a shame because he has hand skills to die for where boxing's concerned but unfortunately having no chin whatsoever means that living in hope of winning a world title has all but vanished as well. I think SKY must be really chuffed that he got blown away like that in his first pay per view lol.

It was pure madness pitting him against this opponent. And it was even more mad that the referee didn't end the fight after the first knockdown. The referee is out there to make sure both fighters don't end up seriously hurt, and this ref dropped the ball there.
If Khan did end up seriously hurt, I'd blame the ref as much as anyone else. Amir Khan has the potential to be one of the best fighters of all time and if his career/life was cut short at this early stage, it would be too tragic for words.

The reason for my dislike of Khan, has got nothing to do with his personality, seems like a sort of grounded guy, it's the way with each fight he is thrown at you by the British Media. You have to give them credit for again bigging someone up to believe he is the next Marciano, then to suddenly get brought down to earth with a career shattering bang. I'm not a professor of boxing by any means, but even i can tell it will be hard for him to get back on the horse after such a humiliating defeat.
