Happy with Berb and Raf's performance. Happy with scoreline and three points.
Boy is Nani frustrating though. He'll get there...

Knee ligament injury for Scholes, though i'm not too worried as i'd pick Anderson ahead of scholes anyway. Rooney is comeing together, looks more lively as the season wears on and Berbatov is still getting into his groove. The second goal was pure class. Nani, well, he just needs some advice on decision making, he's poor at that. Good performance and not many negatives to worry about, though O'shea should be embarrased, he cant even perform against Aalborg! lol.

Still an average performance, but we can only get a lot better. So finally Mr. Berbatov decided to score! Glad he has now but he wasn't involved much until the second half. Ronaldo's looking better and Rafael was strong at the back except for the moments he goes on a run. Hope Scholes, Rooney and Rafael recover soon.

Delighted with the 3 points, should have scored more. Lots of positives to take from the game, Rooney scoring again, Berbatov getting of the mark, and Rafael looking every inch the right sided Evra. Then there's a lot of negatives to take from the game as well, Rooney Injured, Scholes' injury looked a bad one as well, and we still look like a team in pre-season, players still feeling each other out a bit.
Berbatov, showed glimpses of what he's capable of, and what we're capable of with him linking up with Ronaldo and Rooney ect. At the same time though he was poor until we're already up and running, he seems like one of those players that really doesn't seem interested when things aren't going his way. When the going gets tough he seems to drop his head. That's a concern.
Then there's the question over Wes Brown. Not sure what's going on there, has he fallen out with Fergie? He didn't look at all his usual self when he did come on, and he only made an appearance because Rafael took a knock.
Rooney was MOTM today he covered every inch of the field, was involved in everything and capped it off with a goal. Just have to pray the injury isn't serious, Giggs was also brilliant and proved Fergie right with his comments this week.
Nani #shakehead# Not good enough, he's better than that. I'm surprised he didn't get throttled by one or two of his team mates after that performance. Last year he showed glimpses of what he can do. This year, he should be stepping up a level and making that left side his. Very Disappointing.

Agreeing with Supatrice on the Nani thing. He's showed promise last season but he needs to step it up this year, but all he's done is annoy the hell out of me.
Still, a decent performance, two goals for Berba, Rooney looking good again. Not a bad day's work.
Rafael looked excellent, can't wait to see Fabio as he's supposed to be the better of the two.

The goalkeeper was called Zaza, was like a scene from Godfather 3 with Dimi shooting at him!

I hold my hand up. I was ctirical of O'Shea before the match but he did a job there tonight. Real positives were Berba nad Rooney getting on the score sheet. Negatives, Scholesy is a huge loss, particularly with Carrick missing. BTW, the performance level that Evra has reached so far this season is astonishing.

Can't remember the last time he had a poor match, probably when he first joined the club. He's always solid at the back, somehow wins almost everything in the air (he out jumped Crouch ffs) and contributes more going forward than most top flight wingers.

im back from a long break from posting.
My thoughts on the match, first off i have never seen rafael play yet but i am very impressed by his persistance he looked very confident in his own abilities and he knew when to pass. great performance. Rio was great, as well as evra. Very happy with rooneys and osheas performances.
I think nani has a long way to go, he has alot of raw skill and he seems to be overthinking every touch on the ball. i still cringe everytime he takes a corner he either blows it into the first man or over to deep on the back post. Im happy to see ronaldo improving as well. i cant believe its been 5 years since i fell in love with that lad.
good performance from our boys, but a long way to go, i agree with the comment about how we look like a team in preseason

Finishing needed to be better...especially at the 5-minute mark where Berba should have slotted it home....Berba, though, looks like a nice poacher kind of striker and he is also very technically gifted. Good to see him score two.
I still dislike O'Shea :/ but love Rafael...What a youngster! Edwin also needs to stop punching out balls that are easily catchable.

Even my girlfriend said: "Why's O'Shea playing?!!" Overall good performance but Berba needs to buck up and start looking like he gives a shit. Rafael looks fantastic and I hope he recovers soon.

really enjoyed watching the game lastnight. must say rafael looks good but cant make conclusions due to opposition what i willl say is he needs to ask evra how he managed to sort out the defensive side of his game. evra once again impresses me. berba well it had to happen i hope he really kicks on now. as for rooney i hope it aint major cos when he gets injuries he takes a while to get back his stride and he is really getting better so this came at the wrong time. ron looks fitter and as for nani, he is young but really he has to start staying back on the training field to iron out some basics, i.e pass when u should and dont shoot when u should not, as for the croosing they will get better.

Good performance by the team Rooney as usual played a great part. I was surprised to see Berbatov at Tevez's place and i can say even with two goals scored i didn't liked his approach at the game. Rafael.....Oh well ths guy really impressed me a lot, ihope he can get more first team this year very good player. The result was good, but our injuries keep rasing and rasing,i don't like this thing

One thing I really don't get about Berba is that some people won't be happy unless he runs around like an idiot when he doesn't have the ball. From a true centre forward, the work rate that matters is what he does off the ball and in the final third.
A work rate like Rooney or Tevez is sometimes a bonus and (as we have seen with Rooney in particular) sometimes a handicap. Even from wingers, tackling back is a bit of a luxury, and Park is the exception not the rule. These are creative players, and they should be focussing on that, not running around like headless chickens.
I'm not saying Berba did no wrong - he wasted a few good chances to play through balls, and missed that sitter - but you won't find me criticising him for not sprinting around more.
I've published detailed players ratings on my blog, if anyone's interested.
