A poor display from United in terrible conditions at Carrington make no mistake it may sound a close score line but United had 2 shots on goal in the 90 mins, one of those was scored on 89 minutes the other shot came after 52 mins from a free kick which hit the cross bar. United were poor, several players on the pitch arguing with each other a typically non united display against Everton who were bottom of the League going into this game.
15 Minutes - 0-1 Everton Goal - Nathan Craig gave Everton the lead when he reacted well to a shot that rebounded off the post.
60 Minutes - 0-2 Everton Goal - Lewis Codling headed Everton into a comfortable lead from a corner kick, The United players claimed the ball hadnt gone over the line but the ref judged it to have and gave the goal.
89 Minutes - 1 - 2 United Goal - A Nicky Ajose corner kick was fumbled at the far post by the keeper and went into the net, goal credited to Ajose as opposed an own goal.
United had several last chance shots to draw the game but were all well dealt with by the Everton defence.
The Academy are away at Crewe next Saturday to be played at Gresty Road.
