Now that bananarama has been exiled I have a suggestion to make. Any member that received high warning levels due to getting involved in rows with him should have them brought back to normal. It doesn't seem fair that good posters should have this hanging over them because the couldn't contain themselves when faced with the utter nonsense that was spouted by the banana man.
Cheers.

Stewart I am aware I may come across as a bit of a bastard for saying this especially as so many others seemed to dislike Bananarama but it would be wrong to use the system to get rid of him then suspend its application for others. It is a pretty fair system which gives people more than one chance. The only people it wont suit are those who are frequently abusive, so I would imagine that those posters would have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for ridding the forum of bananarama Stewart, appreciated by most if not all!

It wasn't actually me mate. But hopefully the tone of the place will get back to what it was. No-one is saying the place should all be a campfire with us all holding hands but he was just trolling, trying to get a reaction from people for attention. That's why I think the warning levels of people that got involved with the guy should be reduced Brett. Extenuating circumstances and all that.

Thanks for getting rid of him! Altho he will be back in disguise soon enough.

Anyway, who's got the firelighters? this campfire wont light itself. Lets get a chorus of kum-by-yah going.... ;-)

I'm absent for a few days and what's the first thing I notice as soon as I get back - Banana man gone!!!...Christmas come early. RoM is a happier place again. Lets just hope he doesn't come back in disguise. I know Shimo for one will especially be pleased with this.

Well I think it would have been a little better had people been able to use something we call self control in this case.
He did not force anyone to reply, a collective ignoring of his bollocks would have solved it fine, I agree with Brett, those who replied and got warnings should keep them for not being able to control themselves against a child who types words on a forum.
No one forced anyone to reply, which is why a few of us just simply ignored him and never directly replied to anything he said. Watching only in horror as a topic created by him has over 10 pages of drivel...
More important things to be getting irate about. Next time lets not ban a trouble maker, lets not rise to it.

The warning levels are given due to a member's use of personal abuse towards another forum member, regardless of who he was. The levels are an indicator that the person/member has been cited for violation of forum rules, and that other members should beware of that.

I actually suggested people control themselves but that opinion did not go down well with some. If someone is attention seeking just ignore them!

A witch hunt? Spare me. Some utter twat trolls this forum from the start of the season and eventually people snap. His goal, being talked about on here whatever the cost eventually succeeds and then the place descends into monkeys slinging shit at each other as people can't stand back and watch him take the piss out of the likes of Fergie and Rooney. But apparently this is ok because it's his "honest opinion" Quite so. My arse. My original point, which may have been misguided, was that I felt decent posters that couldn't control themselves shouldn't suffer now that banana is gone. I admit this is probably double standards. But the idea that banana is the poor unfortunate victim of a systematic campaign is utterly ridiculous, and frankly insulting.

Bananarama is a bit like Nick Griffin. Flirting with the extremes- possibly legitimate, probably not. In the end this is a niche forum, it doesn't have to be democratic and sometimes things will get messy. If nobody liked me, regardless of the content of my posts, I would either leave out some of my content or leave. Maybe they don't

You are close to being like him on this forum, but you don't quite do it in the same dickheaded way. The answer to the thread has already been answered so time to say bye to this topic.
