I do like 50. I agree, he's better than Lil Wayne as Wayne seems to do his raps based around pop, though he has good beats too. Its just the same shit over and over with 50 and 50 name drops too. His career is based on beef, starting with How to rob, calling out many rappers just to make a name for himself. To be fair, it worked, but you can't say that he doesn't name drop.
Adam, you have mentioned before about the Documentry being mainly written by 50, but that is just according to 50 which the game disputes. I can't say whether 50 wrote the vast majority. I wasn't there. Neither was you, but it makes more sense that Game wrote more since his lyrics are west coast, which 50 knows nothing about. We'll never know though. Its also my OPINION that Game is the superier rapper. They could have been the next Dre and Snoop if it wasn't for 50's ego.
Also got to agree with PeeJay (quite rare) that 50 shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentance as Jay. Like I say, I really do like 50. He's spot on when he's top of his game, but he's nowhere near Jay.
My comparison of Hova and 50 was in terms of personal preference and 50 being the only person that is big enough to come up against him and stand a chance of winning. He'll never have the same impact on rap that Jay-Z has.
50 Cent doesn't strike me as one to lie about the tracks and also Dr. Dre has acknowledged in the past that as The Game had become stale on the record label and couldn't really produce any of his own material - that was good enough to release - he sent The Game to 50 Cent, let him join G-Unit to boost his career off 50's popularity - which seems to make sense to me.
I don't think you could call beefs name dropping, although "How To Rob" is definitely that. But beefs since then have been actual beefs or competitive beefs which what hip hop is about, isn't it?
If Jay-Z and 50 Cent come up against each other though it'll be the best thing since Tupac and Biggie.
