I'll be sticking with brazil after that, England haven't got a playmaker there very raged and lack fluency. England need all there best players on the pitch to even compete with the likes of spain and brazil. Slightly worried rooney may be well and truly knackered.

Shame Chicarito didn't get much of a sniff in the 2nd half.
Not the most convincing win by England, but thats probably a good thing. Last thing we want is a 5-0 win and an overdrive hype machine and inflated ego's. That said, mexico did look a decent team who could play at times and we beat them pretty easily with a few players who aren't first choice starters.
As johnboy said we do lack a playmaker, but the first half tactics didn't work. I can understand Fabio wanting to give Gerrard a free role but if that means Rooney has to isolate himself on the left then its pointless. We need both playing centrally. Whilst i dont think we'll win the WC, im still hoping we can come out of it looking respectable.
As soem have said, i hope Lennon gets a start next match. We have 2 players with bags of pace, which allows us to keep that pressure up for the whole match in the tourny. Walcott looks cracking until he has to make a decision. If he can fix that, he'll be a very dangerous player.

Indeed, the pace of Lennon finally paid dividends, shame about the resulting free-kick. Leighton Baines was found wanting all night. The keepers played well, Rooney played average in spite of the fact that Capello gave him 90 minutes, as he really did look knackered and frustrated last night.

I believe he did notice that playing Gerrard on the 'left' with a free role merely took Rooney out of the game at times. He made sure they both played centrally in the 2nd half and we looked a lot better.
I'm not quite sure how he'll play it in the WC. I envisage he might play it a bit like we do, 4-4-2 in the easier games and 4-3-3 in the tougher. Though when we do play a 4-4-2, only 1 of Gerrard or Lampard should be playing. Cappello seems pretty on the ball though, he deliberately asked some questions last night. Unfortunately i cant help but feel England will be once again going to WC with a injured first choice player and Carrick and Milner did themselves little favour.
Hopefully we'll see Lennon, Joe Cole and maybe Lampard without Gerrard next game. Maybe Parker too.
