www.skysports.com/football/world-cup-2010/story/0,27032,12021_6192661,00.html Pending scans and such amid fears he has damaged his hamstring. Another possible big name player gone. This tournament is cursed. Germany, England, Holland, Ivory Coast. All that is missing is Ronaldo for Portugal, Villa for Spain, Messi for Argentina and Kaka for Brazil. Could be a chance for the lesser known players to step up and claim some glory for once.

Ha this tournament will probably be absolutely dire, I know well that despite that fact I have no preference as regards a winner and no interest in international football, I'll end up watching every second of the Algeria v USA and the like

hahaha....nice one WR1973 You could say that the injury to Rio was a blessing in disguise for the other defenders. He is like a mother to them all, so it is better to cut the umbilical cord and leave them to their own devices. Also, now that Gerrard is captain, (and the number of times I have heard about Gerrard being the inspiration behind Liverpool to the point of vomiting) it is up to him to inspire the team, and to be honest, he won't inspire anything. Is he really in the Stuart Pearce mould, of course not, apart from the dirty tackles and penalties, he has nowt else. Wayne Rooney is the ultimate Stuart Pearce/Roy of the Rovers of England.

It is amazing how many of these so-called great players who feign injury to either win advantage, or to get a penalty etc, are not playing in the world cup. Surely we call this karma!!!

It's very interesting to note that 5 of the 6 injured high profile players for their respective countries are rent boys.. Well well, karma is a real bit**...
Stevie Me is obviously gonna inspire the oppositon by playing a perfect through ball for their striker..

Stevie Me is obviously gonna inspire the oppositon by playing a perfect through ball for their striker.. He cannot do that for England because Didier Drogba isn't in the world cup at the moment. Plus, isn't Stevie Me not grateful, he had his honourary premier league medal with Chelsea, is he that greedy?

Hope he sits on the sidelines for the whole tournament.
Why ?
1. For snubbing us to sign for Chelski 2. His idiotic celebration when he scored the winning goal !
