Cheers bud. I got a 24 hours trial from the guy and, honestly, it's pretty incredible. Never thought I'd be able to get every episode and PPV from all three major promotions.
Probably going to go for it. 29 quid for 17 years worth of televised events. Bargain.

I got the Network trial in Lockdown too. I love the documentaries about my favourite superstars.
I've also been playing a game that allows you to book events called TEW, but it really feels like a poor man's Football Manager and it makes it hard to stick with it.

So I went ahead and bought the full collection. Started watching from the first live Raw.
Early 90’s WWF is something I've never sat and watched properly. Phew. The early days of live are rough. Rob Bartlett on commentary is a very weird choice. There is no real continuity of storytelling/match builds. It's odd! But I'm enjoying it.

As both shows build to the PPVs. I've been re-watching Nitro, and grief the difference in quality from 95 to May 96 is stark, compared to WWF is stark. So much better.

You get the Superstars updates but haven't been watching the shows. It's so interesting knowing what comes later watching the 'starting point'. When I get into '95 I'm trying to figure out a way of watching Raw and Nitro simultaneously.

Anyone watched The Last Ride (Undertaker doc) part one yet? Super weird to see him talk out of character but I enjoyed it a lot.
I also watched the MITB match which was fun. Glad that they've realised that, without fans, they need to lean into absurdist humour.

Glad that they've realised that, without fans, they need to lean into absurdist humour. Started watching it last night, will finish it tonight. I didn’t like the MITB match as much as the Boneyard one at Mania, but I’d much rather watch MITB than watch anyone wrestle in front of fucking nobody again. I’m so sick of it. It hasn’t lent itself to not having spectators as well as UFC did. With UFC you’re still watching an actual combat sport. If you’d never seen wrestling before, you’d know within two seconds that it’s supposed to be in front of people and what we’re seeing now is just a shitty representation of it. Ultimately neither UFC or wrestling should be happening at the moment, but I’ll keep watching as long as they do because it’s programmed into me and I can’t stop, no matter how bad it may be.

Drew and Seth has probably the WWE MOTY and no one was there to watch it. Be interesting to see how wwe go forward once people are allowed to gather again. Vince has already said they’re likely to not go back a ‘live event’ model again. Potentially just do everything at Full Sail and do PPVs at arenas with no house shows.

Where did Vince say that? Investors call back in March. Seems premature to me - if there’s a vaccine and things go back to normal they’d be leaving a lot of money on the table that way.

Have now added Superstars '93 to my collection, also HeAT for 1998 and '99 although the quality isn't amazing. Watched my 'first' Wrestlemania at the weekend. IX ... Woof. Two (I think?) clean finishes in the entire event and one of those was a Scott Steiner botch. The Hogan finale was downright painful. That being said I couldn't help but feel a (maybe slightly weird) sense of affection for the whole thing. Things like just hearing Macho Man go, 'Oh Yeeeahh!' or seeing Bret in a 'Mania main event. Doink the evil clown . Experiencing the genuine old school WWF generates a real, simple, enjoyment. Cannot help but smile. EDIT: Vince on commentary as a face is incredible. And did everyone really hate Rob Bartlett? Macho Man, Gorilla Monsoon, King and The Brain all seem to genuinely hate him . He was certainly a failed experience either way.

I think IX is often considered the worst WrestleMania ever, though I like the Roman setting.
Honestly, WrestleMania didn't really hit its stride until about 17. 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 were five back to back excellent events (especially 17 and 19), only a couple of previous ones could compete with that level. Though, in part this was because WrestleMania became more of a focus, whereas the Attitude Era mostly produced mediocre WrestleManias because the whole year wasn't built around them like it was afterwards.

It's quite funny because I have always heard IX is terrible but obviously they have to encourage box office sales. So they're talking about the encore and describing it as the greatest of all time, the legend that has to be seen or if already watched watched again. It's quite funny.

Watching 95/96 pre-NWO WCW Nitro and Raw. Eric Bischoff was right to give away spoilers for Raw. Raw is a painful watch at this time. Nitro, however flows perfectly well. Even if there is too much Brutus Beecake and not enough DDP.
