Imagine Michaels having classics with the dross in WCW like Bret had. Bret had a better match Post stroke with Vince than Shawn, Bret was a much better promo too. And to think Danielson isn’t the best American wrestler ever is literally a fallacy and fantasy.

I think it's him or HBK for greatest wrestler ever (which I count seperately from greatest draw ever) for me. Obviously plenty will say Bret but I think Danielson is more or less a slightly better Bret in most areas. HBK probably still edges ahead for now as he was just so wildly influential on the generations after him and their style, but Danielson has plenty left in the tank and could streak ahead by the time all is said and done. Should definitely be AEW champion at some point. Man, get the fuck outta here. Not sure if anti Shawn or anti Dragon. One I’ll agree wholeheartedly, the other you’re so very wrong I’ll debate until I die 😂 |

Can’t get away with Bret. Found him really boring. Actually thought he was a better promo than he was given credit for though. Always thought Shawn was the best ever. Danielson is right in the mix now though. Michaels can't touch Bret. Doesn't even come close. I'm doing my full 'Build to the Monday Night Wars' history watch through and Bret just does not put in bad matches. Ever. I just watched him drag a three star match out of Adam Bomb on Raw for goodness sake. If you find him boring I don't know what to say. |

Couldn’t name five Bret matches that I think are great and I’ve seen the majority of his stuff. He’s just not for me. I find it painfully dull. I have mates who absolutely love his stuff though. Different strokes and that. Thought Bret’s book was good though, if you’ve not read it. He’s proper bitter which is sad but also massively entertaining. I love his ongoing, one sided feud with Goldberg. |

I’m not sure how old some of you guys are but I essentially only got properly into wrestling as a kid for the Attitude Era and virtually watched WWE exclusively. So Bret was kind of just before my time.
Over the last year or so I’ve been watching all WWE stuff from the late 80s and am up to mid-96 now (boy is a lot if it terrible) and Bret just does little for me. Maybe something will click from now to mid-97 but I’d imagine if I haven’t taken to him yet, I’m unlikely to do so at all.

What classics did Bret have in WCW out of interest? Was the match with Vince not the one where he had to have a sit down in the middle of it? He was a better promo though, I think Bret was unlucky to be around in a time where there were so many great talkers. |

Cannot believe they went with such a screwy finish for WrestleMania’s main event, an identical finish to every Roman match over the last year. Genuinely heartbroken and disappointed. Where the hell does this go now? Cody was so over, no one will match that apart from Sami who also lost. |
