Second very ambitious shot I've seen from France. The midfielders must think it a tricky task to feed the lone striker in through the back four or work it around them with nice passing into the box.

Ribery is looking bright but he is so predictable when he is trying to cut inside and now he's on a yellow he just relinquishes possession without daring to pull them back as he usually would.

Hernadez was ok Chris. Only got 15 minutes. Had one lovely piece of skill and a shot was brilliantly blocked. Trevor Steven, ex Rangers and Everton was co-commenting on Iish tv and said it was the first time he'd seen him and was very impressed. Basically said he makes excellent runs and with decent service he'd be a real handful.

Well said Chris! I don't think he's fantastic in the final third, our boy Valencia has better end product as a winger I reckon, that's a bit biased perhaps, but I'd say most people could agree.

Quite disappointed in the referee there. Beach balls cousin, Balloon, was happy to get his call up until he got popped.

Very disappointed with Uruguay. Forlan has been great, but the others are just there to make up the numbers. Very disappointing, should be all over France.

Oh you king of puns SET, the mention of a beach hast transformed this thread into extra-dry mode.
Anyone in Ireland watching the game on RTE, the crowd noise is much quieter on the BBC, but Lawro is commentating, so the retention of the will to live would be commendable under such depressing circumstances.
Hopefully he's interupted by the sound of mic interference as his bulging chin knocks it over.
