They must hate interviewing him, he just tells it straight. If only England fans would realise....

Telling it like it is, no frills, no bullshit, typical Keano.
Everything he said there was 100% true, a Roy Keane interview is an anti-thesis to your generic media crap.
Essentially calling Heskey shite, I enjoyed that bit, I hope the England team see that interview.

I saw this earlier and it really cheered me up. For one thing he's spot on. For another he never tales shit from interviewers and that's fantastic.

I love the way Keano always names individual players who were poor...other people would just say the team was poor, Keano doesn't hold back from anything! what a man.

He is spot on in that interview. The fact is that the England team is, as always, way overrated. Pretty much every player in that team is overrated. I don't mean that they aren't any good, just that they aren't quite as good as the fans and the media seem to think they are. This applies to everyone. There are maybe 4 world class players in that squad, Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard and Ashley Cole, but even then the phrase "world class" is so overused. Rooney isn't at the level of Messi and Ronaldo, Gerrard and Lampard aren't at the level of Xavi, Iniesta and Kaka. Only Cole can really lay claim to being the absolute best in his position, and even that's debatable. The rest of the squad range from decent (Lennon, Terry, Milner, Defoe) to decidedly average (Johnson, Crouch, Green, Wright-Phillips) or worse (Barry, Upson, Heskey).

The press absolutely love Keane, there is not back back doors or hiding meanings with him he just says it as he see's it. This time I think he has just said what everyone else is thinking. Good man keano

As far as the world class players go, Lampard is nowhere near world class. He's found his comfort zone in the Premier League. He's never once looked anywhere near quality for England, and I'd doubt his capacity to score 20odd goals a season elsewhere other than Chelsea.
Rooney, Gerrard (I hate to say it) and Cole are world class though. Cole is the only man in the whole squad who is the best in the world at what he does. Gerrard is brilliant at that dynamic midfield thing he does, and 100 times better than Lampard.
Keane was spot on though, there's not many in that squad that had a half decent season.

Roy is spot on! he say's it like it should be.
Lampard, Gerrard and Barry buncha overrated midfielders. Ppl say Gerrard is world class. But I don't consider him to be in the same level as Pirlo, Scholes and Xavi.
Terry another shite cunt and so are the other centre backs like Upson, Carragher, no where near the level of Cannavaro, Puyol, Materazzi, Lucio.

A major coup for the England team would be to install Keano as England manager. That way he can tell everyone who is boss, and its his way, or the highway.
