United reserves beat City 'elite squad' 3-1 this evening in the first game of the Manchester senior cup, goals coming from Macheda 2, and Cleverley. We had a very strong side out with many first team squad players on show. Starting XI: Amos, Neville, Smalling, W.Brown, Rafael, Gibson, Carrick, Anderson, Eikrem, Cleverley, Macheda. W.Keane, Dudgeon and Gill came on.

That is a very strong side for reserve level but oh well we beat the bitters ;D

Weird... I hope Carrick didn't play too long as I have hopes of him starting against West Ham but that's now looking unlikely.

was suprised at the squad, but maybe we could see similer reserve squads alot this season with the likes of king, diouf and welbeck on loan and macheda being in the first team with obertan

Extended highlights of the game: Part 1: Part 2:
Eikrem looks like a top drawer talent. Have a look out for Neville giving out to Macheda straight after his goal for not running down the wing. Brilliant.

Loved it how Neville was running was up and down the touch line even after we leading. Both brilliant finishes from Kiko there and Eikrem looks good, too good to be playing the reserves anyway.
