So just came across some slap fighting videos on youtube ,this has to be one of the most ridiculous , stupid and dangerous 'sports' ever invented.
How is this thing even cleared by medical professionals.

Dana coming out and saying fight fixing is a huge concern in the UFC a short while after hand waving the possibility away is interesting. Makes me think something more serious than the James Krause stuff has been found. It wouldn't surprise me if it was rife, especially lower down the card where fighters barely get paid enough to cover their training.

Stephan Bonnar has died. MMA wouldn't be as big as big as it is now without him and Forrest Griffin. A sad end. Drug addiction, poor health, fell into the right wing conspiracy hole. It's a shame thing ended that way.

Phil Baroni has been arrested for the murder of his girlfriend. His fight with Dave Menne was one of the first MMA fights I ever watched about 20 years ago, back when Bravo used to have random fights on at about 2am. It's stuff like this that makes me so vocal about wanting fighters to retire when they've reached a certain level of damage taken. I don't know if decades of being punched in the head caused this, but it certainly didn't help.

Looks like Jon Jones Vs. Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title. Feel sorry for Francis, but I can't pretend I'm not excited for this fight.

On paper Francis vs Jones may look better but I feel Francis only has a puncher's chance and it would have been a boring fight IMO. Gane is much more technical and no one moves like him in the heavyweight division. Hope Gane has improved his wrestling though. |

Only problem I see for him is ring rust after so long Jones is definitely the favourite but Light-HeavyWeight to Heavyweight is a big switch and Jones did look slower in his training videos. And his last few fights he didn't look as dominant as he used to be. |
