Hmm....same link as is on the site....bloody thing. Heres the story:
Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has offered a guarded indication of his interest in Karim Benzema after joking that he would 'sign him tomorrow'.
The France international looks set to feature in Laurent Blanc's starting XI against England at Wembley on Wednesday despite only being a substitute at Real Madrid.
Bernabeu boss Jose Mourinho has infrequently used Benzema after inheriting the forward, who almost joined Manchester United, upon his arrival this summer.
It has been reported that Real will allow Benzema to leave on loan in January and Houllier, who knows the 22-year-old from their time together at Lyon, has admitted his admiration.
Houllier joked to L'Equipe: "If Karim wants to come and play at Aston Villa, we would sign him tomorrow.
"We are keen to offer him more first-team opportunities."
Houllier has confirmed that he needs to sign 'one or two players in January', but he has ruled out a move for Manchester United striker and former Liverpool colleague Michael Owen.
The Villa boss has said that his priority is not to improve his attacking options as he waits for forwards Emile Heskey and John Carew to return from injury.
