I didn’t realise the Grizzlies lost their backup Center as well. They were destroyed off the boards last night.
It’s funny, I think I mentioned my son is playing? His team are developing into one of the best in Ireland in their age group and found a dominant Center. But if he’s injured or fouled out, it goes south very quickly. Lose your big at any level and you’re more or less fucked!

Lose your big at any level and you’re more or less fucked! The importance of easy points dictates that big men are vital. Although the evolution of the 3pt game changed it for a bit in the last decade, the fact that Jokic won the past 2 MVPs and this year will be Embiid most likely, signals a comeback, and I’m glad. I’d gotten tired of watching every other team launch it and have sub 30% efficiency from range. A big man with a good post move guarantees buckets. Good to hear about your lad. Basketball is a great sport - and it burns a fuckload of calories to boot!

In the end the warriors made it look…….. Steffortless. Curry scored the points but Looney won them that game in the 3rd. Sabonis is a very good player but he was schooled last night. Anthony Davis won’t let that happen so the series will be a very interesting one.

Anthony Davis won’t let that happen so the series will be a very interesting one. Looney was - and this is no exaggeration - putting up Wilt Chamberlain numbers last night. The stats back this up. Sabonis is the weakest link on that team. He can’t rebound against a real big, he’s not a stretch big either (warriors not even putting a man on him all series at the midrange should make him hide his face in shame), and he has no post moves. It might look good in reg season but he makes you go in reverse in the post season. Davis needs to stay healthy, which is a big worry because Looney is a tough bastard. If David even lands wrong while challenging a board he will be off. Kings were a blazing fast, young team and the Warriors got all their limits tested there. In a weird way their mind is battle ready a lot more than the lakers. Lakers are however, the best defensive rating team in the playoffs. I’m going Warriors in 5 simply because of Steph.

I couldn’t believe why Sabonis wasn’t taking that mid range shot, nor could I believe why the Warriors were just giving it to him. Then he took a couple and I quickly realised why. Oh and at one point last night I turned to the kid and said- ‘Sabonis is making Looney look like Wilt Chamberlain’!

Each and every team in the NBA will defend against him this way. Either he improves his midrange or Kings have a decision to make if they want to be a serious contender next year. They also gave up absolutely stupid fouls in the 3rd. 7 mins left and they used up all their team fouls! Insanity. They're lucky golden state bricked so many FTs.

When Davis is healthy he's a top 5 player in the league. Absolutely dominant.

Anthony Davis is categorically not Sabonis. Tonight he’s been worse than Sabonis. Always been the problem with Davis. You never know which one you’re going to get.
