His best year he averaged 340 per game, which is a great number, but he also threw it about 50 times every week. Don't get to obsessed with passing yards, of all the qb's to set really high marks here, they all had sub-par running games for the most part. Points per game is a much better stat imo, in all fairness, he is pretty good there as well. Still hate him. He is the Yank version of Stevie G, all the press, always someone else's fault when he fails.

Manning broke/equaled a ton of records last night. The weapons he has around him right now is scary. I hadn't seen much of Sanders but he's an upgrade on Decker. He's lightning quick and really stretches defences. Julius has gone up a notch and is now an elite TE, could be one of the great ones like Gates I think. The Broncos running game isn't clicking though which concerns me. All the off-season talk was tougher Defence, more balanced Offence. The Defence is hugely improved (although ranks low against the pass, though a lot of that is teams playing catch up and not being able to run the ball due to Pot Roast and the other DTs. But the running game is mis-firing badly and we need that to click or won't beat Seattle if we meet them again.

Had a feeling this comment might draw a reaction. As a Bronco fan I am sure he will have nothing but nice things to say about Philip Rivers as a reply. Rivalries are fun.

You have to be able to run the ball late in the game and especially in December and January. The best teams are balanced. Throwing it all over the place looks pretty, but at some point the weather, a good defence, a key injury can grind a passing attack to a halt. Better have an option B. Look at the last three Super Bowl winners, Seattle, Baltimore and New York. None of them are high powered passing attacks, but all are balanced.

An all of them have exceptional cover players in secondary. Game is changing to where QB needs to be able to break it open with his feet as well as his arm.

It helps, but tell that to Brees, Rivers, Manning, Brady, hell even your boy Cutler. They can all move in the pocket, but none of them are runners. Main point of a Qb is to throw the ball from the pocket the best do this well, you can run around until your pants fall off, but you better make playes down field or you will end up like Tebow and RGIII. Hurt and or useless at your position.

I like Manning, think he is the best that has played the game, don't know if he'll coach or not, he doesn' t suffer fools gladly Far as the debacle last season, I was convinced that Seattle was going to win, (though not in a "whupping" fashion) I think Pete Carroll is a an absolute Genius

Enjoyed the hell out of the Super Bowl myself. This is the most I have talked about Peyton in my entire life. The longer this goes on, the more likely I am going to say something to get banned by Stewart. For now I will keep my feelings about the wunder brothers and their Gene wilder looking dad to myself.

I love my Bears, but team I followed the hardest and enjoyed the most was the Madden Raiders (psychopaths) Was in CSTS school at the Naval Training Center in Sept '78, anmd when Casper kicked the ball into the end zone. Was in the stands with my cousin, (who was a Lt in the Navy and going to a warfare school at the time) and he was huge Bolt fan. I bought him an "Immaculate Deception" T shirt out by the main gate at NTC, had a blind ref on it :DS Haven't thought about that in a long time

Looking forward to the Broncos-49ers game this evening. I'll pay a price tomorrow but mat stay up and watch the first half.
Btw, how about them Cowboys? Seriously, how did that happen? American chaps, would the Cowboys be similar to the Scousers in that historically they were excellent but have been dross for about 20 years? For Aikman read Ian Rush? I always heard them called America's team but anyone I spoke to over there hated them. Which is also similar to how our Scouse friends like to see themselves.
