You could say the same about every news story linking any player to any club so. Guest appearance by the Transfer Realist, could it be? No, but dismissing it as "just the agent looking for more money" is a bit daft really as the same could go for every story these days - regardless of the club. Unless Best is an agent or someone with unique insight into all these players? Who's to say that Gotze wouldn't rather play for us over city or chelsea? Everyone was sure RVP was city-bound, cos of the money.

Though in reality, that wasn't my point SET. “I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario,” “I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them. My point is that, when agents refer to multiple clubs it's pretty much a courting exercise.

Everyone was sure RVP was city-bound, cos of the money. I'm not. I just presume virtually every agent in the game is money-leeching scum who have little or no regard for what's in a player's best playing interests. (In this case, yes, I am suggesting it is far and away in Magic Mario's best interests to join us.)

Aye, most agents are the same - out for their own ends - but every now and then one of the stories are going to be true.
It could be an agents way of giving a club a kick up the arse too. If United have been in contact and are now dicking around and there are other clubs interested, but the agent knows Mario wants to come here, then it could be his way of telling United to get it sorted.
I don't think Mario would be after more money though - it's not really the done thing in Germany is it?

No, if Mario wants to move, it's almost definitely for footballing reasons. Dortmund's league form and Bayern's ridiculous uptick resurgence could have shaken him. Even if Dortmund pull off a minor mircale and witn the European Cup, there could be serious concerns about Bundesliga titles and domestic success. Especially with Guardiola coming in. He'll have the off-the-ball skullduggery ramped up to warp-level at Bayern. Who already have players who know how to con the ref well enough.

Goetze to United? not sure he would want to leave Dortmund so early into their resurgence. if he did want to leave, i would imagine Bayern, Barca and Madrid would be his preferred destination over United. he would be a pretty expensive transfer too. still has 3 years or so to run on his current contract, and most journos say he would cost 40 million quid.

Doubt he'd go to Bayern as he's Dortmund through and through. He's already said he'd like to leave in the future to further his football and I think it'll be between us, RM and Barca.

Dortmund's resurgence? Have you seen Die Bundesliga table this season? They're going to need a lot of work in the summer to compete with Bayern, as Bayern have been taking the piss with FFP and making the most of their unique 'Elite' revenue status in Germany. Plus, Dortmund could be losing two or three of their key players this summer. I've said before, it's going to be a terrific shame if they can't keep the squad together, but to be honest I can't see it.

I think it's only Gundogan and Lewandowski who have two years left on their contracts. All the other big stars (Hummels, Goetze etc) have long contracts so they are in a great position. They may end up selling a star each year, but they seem to pick up and develop top talent on a consistent basis so I don't think it'll be a huge issue. Plus with great finances they'll also be able to spend big, which they've already stated they'll do this summer.

Bayern Munich have signed Mario Götze for 37 million euros from great rivals Borussia Dortmund.
According to Bild, the arrival of Pep Guardiola was just the beginning with the former Barcelona coach sanctioning what could go down as the biggest transfer of the summer.
Dortmund are powerless to stop Götze leaving with Bayern activating the release clause in his current contract.
Götze has already signed with Bayern Munich and will earn seven million euros per season as opposed to the five million euros he currently earns.
The timing of the announcement comes just a day before Bayern Munich play Barcelona in the Champions League with Dortmund of course facing Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Bayern are also due to play second placed Borussia Dortmund on May 4 in the Bundesliga and could also contest the Champions League final at Wembley on May 25.
Arsenal and Manchester City were also reportedly interested in Mario Götze.
