Going through the matchday v Liverpool thread or 'Banana Feet's final goodbye from United'. Pity there is not a category in here called 'Classic Threads'. Put that one in and pin it. Watch it roll on and on and on.....

I used to think you was OK. GET OUT!!! Sorry Paul. In my defence I was only thinking of how to inflict yet more serious pain on the Scousers. Bad idea and penance. You're forgiven.

I couldn't find a thread to stick this in so I'll put it here. Old Trafford in the early forties.

I still remember clearly when we won the Premier League for the first time.
I was 15, and was listening to Radio 5 Live in my bedroom. We didn't have Sky and I was too young to go to the pub.
Villa were playing crappy little Oldham, nailed on 3 points there. If they lost we were Champions, but that was never gonna happen.
Oldham went 1-0 up. I was pacing around my room, couldn't sit down, felt like I was going to be sick, nerves like a first date and job interview rolled into one.
It was getting closer to the whistle and I was sweating like a dog. Couldn't believe Villa were losing to Oldham. But they were, and they did.
Remember the feeling of sheer relief, and joy when the game ended. The commentator confirming that "That's it. Manchester United are the Champions of England!"
Pretty much just collapsed on the bed. Felt like crying, though I didn't (big brother was in the room and doesn't support United, so I held it together).
Ecstasy.

The man commentating on Ronaldo's free kick in that video, he's MUTV isn't he? I detest him. He really doesn't know how to comment on football. Must be a nice person, but God I cannot stand it when I see MUTV videos and his voice starts playing.
