Milan disappointed me when I went. Cracking atmosphere but the San Siro needs some love, much more than OT does. Stadium feels so old. The city itself was cool but I easily did everything I wanted to in a day, and that was including stopping to watch United for two hours.

I know he thinks he's much better than he is, but surely even he sees what a terrible idea this is? There must be a bottom half club that would start him. Newcastle maybe?

He's too much in denial. Probably thinks he'll be outstanding while Pope and Heaton are out, making the number 1 spot his own.

£35mil for Courtois is insane, especially when you consider Chelsea are paying double that for his replacement!

True, but given the fact he only has 1 year left and he's refusing to play etc... It's as insane as us almost taking £20m + Navas or whatever it was in similar circumstances (though DDG wasn't refusing like Cortouis is IIRC, LVG just thought it was best he was left out).

It's a bargain for Real, but don't think Chelsea had many other options.

How absolutely abysmal have Chelsea been in the window. They'll have sold Courtois for essentially a paltry 35 million, bought an unproven talent for upwards of 70 million and got a loan deal for Kovacic. That's absolutely rubbish.

Unproven is a bit harsh. Unproven in the PL maybe, but he's been starting for Bilbao for about 2 years. De Gea only had 4 more appearances for Atleti when we signed him than Kepa does for Bilbao.

You also missed out that they beat City to Jorginho, who was brilliant last year and by all accounts was Pep's only target to improve his first team. Overall they've had a poor window, but it's a lot better than it looked 3 weeks ago and not as bad as you're saying IMO.

Mate, we did not buy De Gea for 71 million though. Kepa, for 71 million, is absolutely ridiculous and they've hugely overpaid there's no denying that. The reason why they've done so is because they were absolutely shite in the window. Jorginho is a good deal, but I'm not overly wary of them with him in the squad. I am not sold on him as yet, will hold my hands up if he proves me wrong though. Kovacic is a good signing, but it's only a loan, with no option to buy. In the midst of all this , they've lost their established, near world class level keeper for 35 million.

Abysmal, IMO.

He's known as an up and comer (maybe I'm wrong), at least he is to the La Liga casuals. Those who watch the league on the regular will be better placed to comment.

But that's my point. This lad is barely established, yet they've made him the most expensive keeper in the world. That's just bad negotiating.

On the upside, nobody can bat an eye when we ask 200 mil for De Gea, and not a penny less.
