Man. So much money flying around football this summer... Malaga in Spain, PSG in France and Shiteh in own our backyard. Are they all own by Qatari Companies / Sheiks? Yeh pretty much. Was good thing for Spain to be honest, they need someone compete with the top 2. Its also good that City and Chelsea have more competition, Chelsea wanted Pastore didn't they?

Did Juve have a squad clearout or something? They have been on a massive spending spree this summer:
Arturo Vidal - Bayer Leverkusen - 10.5million Stephan Lichtsteiner - Lazio - 10million Simone Pepe - Udinese - 7.5million Fabio Quagliarella - Napoli - 10.5million Reto Ziegler - Sampdoria - Free Michele Pazienza - Napoli - Free Andrea Pirlo - AC Milan - Free Alessandro Matri - Cagliari - 15.5million Marco Motta - Udinese - 3.75million

So they were already in the squad. Still a lot of players to bring in. Apparently AC Milan are in for Aquilani now to replace Pirlo.

Well Roma got taken over so they've got plenty of money. Udinese sold Sanchez of course so obviously they've got money to spend.

Who took over Roma? When was that? Dont remember hearing anything about it.
Wonder how Lamela will get on with them - 20mill price tag to live up to, altho i dont think the Italian press use a players price tag against them as much as the british press do if they dont perform well

I know the Bojan deal was weird. 12m euros but Barca can buy him back in 2 years for 13m euros unless Roma pay another 28m euros.. As for the takeover: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13105547.stm

Hmmm....April? Missed that one.
Should be world rules forbidding any company having controlling stakes in more than 1 club regardless of what country they are in. Can still claim a conflict of interest if Roma and Liverpool faced each other in Europe at any point....fair enough it wont happen this season - hehehe - but still.....

I'd also like to say Craig Bellamy is a twat.
First he said while at Cardiff that he's staying at the club no matter what until they get promoted, whether that be this year or not. Then, as soon as they don't get promoted in the first season, we don't hear anything else about him wanting to go back there. Suddenly he's "100% committed to City" and won't even entertain the idea of playing elsewhere. Yes, that's Man City the team who dropped him like a bad habit as soon as they were able to attract bigger names, despite him having a very good season in 09-10. That's the Man City who desperately want to get rid of him this summer. That's the Man City where he probably won't even be included in the 25 man Premier League squad.
What a bellend.

What do you expect from a 100% grade A mercenary? Hes desperate to play CL football so will say/do anything to give himself a better chance. He wont make either their Pl or Cl squads tho and if he does i will eat my hat. Players like Bell - end - amy should just fuck off and die....they epitomise everything that is wrong with football and are further proof that all this money is slowly destroying football

Think you're being a bit harsh there. Bellamy wants to leave CIty, but is unwilling to take a pay cut. I read an article where he said that one of the reasons he is unwilling to move on a reduced contract is because he has commitments to charities in South America or something like that, and they need his money. He's in the last year of his contract isn't he, so why shouldn't he look for a permanent move - if he's loaned out his future remains up in the air at the end of the year. He wants the security. It's posturing on his part, he knows City want to get rid of him, so he's probably hoping that by stating his desire to stay and fight for his place they'll panic and let him go. Earlier in the summer he made it clear that he wanted City to let him leave for free instead of a club needing to pay his transfer fee.
I'm completely on his side on this. Why should he be fucked around by City?

Why should he be fucked around by City? Know one of the first things that people have to give up when they get sacked? Giving to charity. It's harsh but it's true. Bellamy is effectively being told he's getting laid off if he doesn't move clubs, he should take the drop in wages and go. It's also City's fault for signing the mercenary wee scrote on ridiculous wages in the first place.

It's not just giving to charity, he funds a school or something out there. City have bought a shit load of players and looked to replace them with better ones in such a short space of time. Now they're paying the price because they can't get rid of them. Ah, here's that Bellamy thing www.craigbellamyfoundation.org/

Eljero Elia - Hamburg to Juve - £8 million (reported) [I'm glad he didn't go anywhere dangerous, I like him]

He is a massive talent with speed to burn! seemed a little to small for the EPL but so was Ronaldo... I guess this league will do that to you. Either you bulk up and handle it or it will spit you out
