If Villa could get Given, Parker, N'Zogbia and Hitzelsperger for the money they received for Downing, that would be a pretty sweet swop. They'd still have the Young money to sign a top drawer striker as well, could be back challening for the top 7 if they get those By "top drawer", what do you mean? Because obviously no true top drawer striker would join Villa. Do you mean a good PL striker? Yeah, top drawer perhaps not the right phrase. Mean someone who can get them 20 goals a season, Carew, Heskey, Agbonlahor and Harewood haven't been able to do that. Maybe someone like Defoe, or Sturridge on a season long loan, or some unhearalded foreign player, like we did with Chico. In fact, I'll go with Defoe. I know he's not "top drawer", but I think he'd be good for a team like Villa, and will score a decent amount of goals if playing week in week out |

Sounds like the Vermin are close to signing Cissokho from Lyon. 2 years ago this would have been awful news but he's been terrible for Lyon. They are selling him at nearly a 6 million loss. After one season!! He'll make Insua look like Roberto Carlos.

Random, but PSG have signed Mohammed Sissoko and Jeremy Menez and they want Pastore.
