the only thing with Gears is the multiplayer. i get an arse raping each time i take it online. the learning curve is steep

I'd have to agree. That was the main reason I stayed away from multi player. My Uncle got me gaming until all hours in matches though and I become, somewhat, better. Big time rage when you feel you've popped somebody in the head 2, 3 and 4 times only for them to spin stupidly fast and take you with a head shot though. The whole learning curve has meant to have been sorted in GOW3. Matches are found for the multi player level you're at. Although wasn't that intended for GOW2? Yet I still found myself against a whole team of wings at times.
Probably not the best idea but I am going to casually stroll down to GameXchange tomorrow and ask for a copy of GOW3. I'm expecting empty shelves though.

Gamestop opening at 11pm tonight for a midnight launch. Pre-ordered and paid for, so will be standing at the head of the queue tonight to collect my copy. Cant wait. Absolutly love GOW.
Skyrim looks an absolute beast of a game too!!

i can't justify that sort of spending on a game at the minute although i've got MW3 on pre-order so i'll av to splash it in Nov.
it's a sonofabitch really, by the time gears drops to about a score everyone will be pretty good online and i'll be getting pwned. what do u do

I can't believe the collectors' edition of Skyrim is going to be £130. Total fucking rip-off, especially as all you get on top of the game is some naff model, an artwork book and a making-of DVD.

Sucks they didn't make the GOW series for the PC, the first was a good game and very decent port.
That Skyrim collectors addition does look so over priced. Damn the game looks like it could be awesome though. At least PC games are generally £25-30, so much cheaper than consoles. Owning a dozen games pretty much bridges the gap in cost of PC and consoles. They are getting so far behind PC though and gaming suffering a bit for it. At least Battlefield 3 is almost making 2 different games for PC and console.

Sadly I'm stuck with my Xbox for foreseeable future, despite being a PC gamer at heart. My computer is too old and tired these days, I've not bought a game for it for years, other than the FM series (on which I have to turn off the 3D match stuff). For the Xbox I very rarely get a game when it first comes out, I think the only time I've done that is with Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Fallout New Vegas and Red Dead Redemption. If I'm not truly desperate to get it then I'll just wait until it's a decent price second-hand, I just can't justify paying £40-50 on a game when that's money I really need for boring shit like food and travel.
Alas my credit rating is too shite to get a decent computer on finance and I don't have a great deal of disposable income to be saving up for a computer, well, I could but it would take years. FML.

This  Only got it cos GOW was the main reason i bought an xbox for myself - my housemate had one and i used it occasionally before that. Got the Collectors Editions of the previous 2 ones too, so this will join them in the collection. Im abit of a sucker for Collectors Editions if its a game i really like. |

Few extra download bits for multiplayer and that comes with it too, plus i think we get the first lot of new multiplayer maps when they are out in November. Was fun walking home just after midnight with a massive box tucked under my arm
