In fairness Lindegaard always looked half decent. Fuck knows what's happened since he left.

Burnley are seeking special dispensation from UEFA to sign a GK for their Europa tie vs. Aberdeen because Pope and Heaton are injured. This is instead of potentially playing their third choice 'keeper - Anders Lindegaard. Did anyone here think he was the long term solution instead of DDG? I remember a couple of my non-United supporting friends did and I always told them they were idiots. Amazing to even think he competed with DDG, their paths have diverged so much since. Long term? No. I did think he was more suited to the League when De Gea was being flattened every week though. Yeah that's fair enough. It made sense to keep DDG out of the spotlight for 2/3 months. But I knew several people who thought DDG was a terrible buy and that Lindegaard was our long-term future. Genuinely one of the most bizarre opinions I'd ever seen - I saw nothing in Lindegaard that made me think he'd ever be good enough for us.

Always DDG for me...I had faith that he would overcome the batterings and go on to be what he is...the best in the world... It's one of the very few things I got right...

What's the delay on the contract extension!? I hope its just a formality or that the Club are coming up with some clever contract extension video.

I had arguments with my husband over De Gea and I insisted he'd be great given time. I don't think Fergie dropping him helped either. Lindegard wasn't a better keeper.Luckily for De Gea Lindegard got injured so Fergie had no option but to play him and give him a run of games which is what he needed.

Possibly but I think Fergie panicked a bit . It's no coincidence when he got a run of games his performances improved.
