Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't DDG only 22 now ? He is a great keeper and I feel the media puts unnecessary pressure on a kid who has at least 10+ years ahead of him.
DDG is probably one of the best keepers in his age bracket. Lindegaard is good backup and thats where it ends.

If they offer Messi and maybe a culy wurly then who are we to say no. What I will add though is to all the media and doubters slagging him off, cant be too bad if 2 of Europes biggest clubs want him eh. He wont leave. make it a multi-pack of curly wurly's

Too many people focus on the 1 dodgy area of his game, crosses. An area hes working onand has improved drastically this season. Carbon - if its a multi pack mate then im afraid he has to go.

I must say he needs to parry past the post, v pool and v newcastle he let in a goal that could have been avoided. VDS was ultra good at this.

This debate has become rather stale recently. DDG, even with his sporadic errors, has been fantastic and he'll only get better.
I really, truly just hope he doesn't do us for Spain in 5 years time.

I'm still a bit shocked that Lindergaard has an attitude problem. He always comes across in the media (and forum) as a competitive guy in a good sense. Maybe Schmeichel got it right.

Apparently Lindegaard has played 8 games.
So i'd expect him to feature in at least two of our remaining games, to get a medal.
Good opportunity to give De Gea a break although DDG will probably start against the Gooners.

How is this still an ongoing thread?

De Gea doesn't need a rest and Lindegaard is likely to be off in the summer, so it'd be a waste of time playing him. besides, keepers get special dispensation - they dont have to play the minimum to get a medal.

Got to put my hand up and say I was one of those who said 'he would NEVER make it at United', I was wrong. Very wrong.

DeGea has come on leaps and bounds this season. He was already a great shot stopper, but he's improved his handling and will only get better in my opinion. In a year or two he'll be one of the best in the world.
I'd keep him in goal for the last few games as we try to go for 96 points.

I really, truly just hope he doesn't do us for Spain in 5 years time. i'm fairly pessimistic about how long we'll be able to keep him. in my view i'd see keeping him for another 5 years as a big success.

This is a common theory & i just don't understand it. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world, who paid huge money for a relatively unproven Goalie. The fans love him, he seems to enjoy the club, why would he leave? Considering we paid 20mil for him, if he leaves in 5 years he could be worth 40mil. How many clubs have that to spend on a Goalie? I think he'll be here for years.

Fair points aus, let me put it this way, if we're successful in Europe again and Barca decline sufficiently he'll stay here for a long time I reckon, he wouldn't head to Real because of his Atletico links so it does narrow it down a bit.

Comments from Victor Valdes about DDG in 4-4-2 mag:
He is a spectacular keeper and hasn't received the acclaim he should have. He's 22, but plays like a goalie with 10 years' experience, like me or Iker. He's always had great reactions between the posts. He's improved how he plays with his feet and distributes the ball like Pique. I'm glad he's doing well and is well liked in Manchester.
