Seems that Mendes is being a bit of a c*nt...I think he is agitating for another (agent) money making move...although he was talking to Mundo Deportivo...
Agent Jorge Mendes has not ruled out David de Gea leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid because of the way situations can rapidly change in football.
United manager Louis van Gaal has recently expressed his confidence that the Spain goalkeeper will resist Madrid's overtures and sign a new contract to stay at OId Trafford.
When asked about De Gea's situation on Thursday and the prospect of a switch to the Bernabeu, Mendes said according to newspaper Mundo Deportivo: "I do not know the future, things change every five minutes. We all know that in football nothing is impossible."
Mendes, agent to a host of world stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, was speaking at an event to launch his own autobiography.
He added of De Gea in Marca: "David is a Manchester United player and has a contract. You have to respect that."
De Gea, 24, is contracted to United until the end of next season.
At the same event, Mendes predicted former United man Ronaldo, who turns 30 next month, could play on for Madrid for another decade.
He said: "I am confident that he will retire at Real Madrid when he is 38, 39 or 40."

Mendes doesn't seem the Raiola sort though. Fergie always spoke very highly of him and you know how Fergie despised agents.
I think it could be a kick up the arse for getting the contract sorted rather than schilling De Gea to Madrid. Then again, if Dave wants to go then Mendes always does what the client wants.

Mendes is probably doing this to get United to act over Falcao. Probably best not to piss him off if we want to keep De Gea.

I seriously hope you are right Bestie...I would throw a hissy fit if we let DeGod leave...and I don't care who we would get in exchange, not even Ronnie...

Whatever Mendes has said isn't in any way wrong or rather its the "politically correct" answer Agents would have given . doesn't matter if its Riola or Mendes or someone else. Mendes knows that with the way things are going we are probably going to have to deal with more of his clients as well as Real will. so don't think he will say anything to antagonize either of the clubs

I get a nasty feeling that we will not have both ways. We will either be able to keep Falcao or De Gea and if given a choice I fear that we may lose Falcao

Reluctantly? I love Falcao but i'd drive him straight back to him home in monaco for free if it came down to a choice

I don't think Falcao or De Gea are mutually exclusive transfers, if De Gea wants to leave we can't do much to stop him.
Sign him up to a new deal so we at least get a decent fee, use it to bend over for Levy and sign Lloris.

Which would be a mistake in my humble opinion, Lloris is behind only Courtois and DDG in the league.
