Nowhere near enough traffic on this thread. He's been an absolute monster since he came back (not fully fit either). Are people scared of jinxing it? Yep, I'm waiting for the wheels to come off. Mourinho has done wonders with jones and Rojo but I still can't help feeling that something calamitous will happen  |

Think a big part of what Mou has done with Jonesy has been to get him to be more aware of positioning. When he was getting dinged up
seemed to me 90% of the time it was flying like a crash test Dummy to catch up to someone getting a jump on him or his playing partner.
I think he is learning to read what is going on around him much more quickly and not having to make those made bull in china shop
rushes.
Playing in training with Blind has to help as well, because Blind uses his vision and positioning to make up for lack of pace exceptionally
well.
Great thing to see Jonesy realizing the potential that everyone felt he had when he came to United.

Almost a year since there was a post in his own thread.
This guy is a monster of a CB. For me he’s becoming everything we’d hoped he’d be when we signed him. He’s tough, he’s quick, he reads the game very well and he’s stopped throwing himself into things he doesn’t need to. A proper Utd defender, worthy of the line. I wouldn’t swap him for any CB in the league and I include the Spurs guys in that list.

Just think everyone's scared to praise him too much in case we jinx it and he gets injured again.
If him and Bailly (when he gets back) can keep themselves fit then I wouldn't break up that pairing for anyone.

Also, someone made a good point yesterday about his fitness- the only time he’s had even a relatively long layoff this season was when that moron Southgate played him in a friendly after having about 5 injections.
