season 1 - great season 2 - ok season 3 - bit of a stretch season 4 - terrible
this must be the worst booked tv series i've seen yet, it just gets more and more contrived as it progresses through the seasons. season 4 is so bad i got 4 or 5 episodes in and can't force myself through any more of it.
the initial break out of fox river should have been spread over at least 2 seasons and everything that went on outside of fox river should have been wrapped up in a single season. i know they are rinsing the cash cow with 4 seasons but we are talking artistically here.
in fact if i was booking this shit it would be 3 seasons max, inside fox river for the whole 3 seasons with the breakout happening towards the end and one single feature-length episode at the end of season 3 to wrap up events that take place after the escape. but that's just me

Watch to the end of season 4, it ties up nicely actually. Three was a bit gash, but 4 really picks up again.

I personally thought season 3 and 4 were absolute rubbish. Plot turns for the sake of it, some bad acting. My God I wondered when it would end but I never did bother to see the end. Still it can't be half bad as heroes.
Has anybody started a thread on good TV yet? There's threads for metal, movies, music in general etc, didn't happen to come across one for quality TV though.

It completely changed style from the first season, the last one season was kind of like a trashier more unbelievable 24. I still enjoyed it for what it was though to be fair.
*Rant mode*
Unfortunately the way US TV is done is really annoying. Whereas we get flexibility on our TV schedules, they get these blocks, so basically anything popular gets a long series. Things get gratuitously dragged out, series never know which season will their last so long term story arcs can suck.
Lost is a prime example, it started well then severely meandered for a couple of season till the network finally said, 3 series and its over. the was a big improvement after that.
Already i'm getting that feeling the Walking Dead (though I'm only on s2ep 5) didnt need to be dragged out over a longer season. Though once again the US networks always go quantity over quality. I think it could end up being a problem. theres a lot of shows that have ended, or big shows that are coming to the end of their life and there seems little there to replace them.

Though once again the US networks always go quantity over quality. You got that right Fletch, take How I Met Your goddamn Mother for example. Almost 60% of US shows fall prey to that. And Jimbonda, you've got me thinking mate, maybe I will try and come up with one.

How I Met Your Mother is Damn funny, you may sit down on that one sir!
I agree otherwise though, there are a few programs that I've loved because they were just one or two seasons. Yes, on one hand I'd love to see more of the show, but on the other hand it means every episode is high quality.

I know a lot of people who still watch and enjoy it, but in my opinion, HIMYM is not at all as funny as it was before. It's getting dragged on and on and on.
Does anybody here watch Psych?? Bloody good show.
