To be fair I'd like to see him remain in the league. Great player.
All the best Berba.

Seeing Berbatov turn out for another Premier League club would/will be heartbreaking.

Meh it's Fulham. Who cares really?
At least a great player stays in the league and we can see him on MOTD every week.
And who knows, he may do some damage against our rivals.

Juventus and Fiorentina have confirmed Dimitar Berbatov has rejected moves to the club amid reports he is poised to join Fulham.
Fiorentina were in pole position to land Berbatov after agreeing a deal with Manchester United earlier on Wednesday.
The Bulgarian flew out to Italy for talks and a medical at Fiorentina but failed to turn up at Florence after Juventus hijacked the move for Berbatov.
However, in another twist Berbatov has snubbed a switch to Italian champions after an apparent last-minute move by Fulham. Fiorentina have issused a withering statement hitting out Berbatov's conduct following his snub to the Viola.
"ACF Fiorentina announce that the transfer for Dimitar Berbatov definitively collapsed after an agreement with Manchester United had been concluded (with shared exchange of contracts, the first instalment paid and the financial guarantees for the second instalment ratified) and after reaching a verbal agreement with the player over his contract," read a club statement.
"During today the English club had allowed their player the written permission to come to Florence for a medical and to sign his contract.
"The player got on the flight with his agent and on tickets paid for by Fiorentina. He never arrived in Florence.
Outlandish & arrogant
"This was down to outlandish and arrogant behaviour of other clubs, who have nothing to do with fair play and sporting ethics that go even beyond the confines of fairness.
"As for the player, apart from his characteristics and his value on the field, at this stage we are happy he didn't come to Fiorentina. He did not deserve our city, to wear our jersey or the values that represent it."
Juventus sporting director, Beppe Marotta, claims Berbatov opted against the move to Juventus as he wants to stay in England for family reasons.
"It hasn't been a refusal. Berbatov prefers remaining in England due to family reasons," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. "We have contacted him after we knew he refused the Fiorentina move.
"I've spoken with Man Utd's chief officer. We knew their decision to sell Berbatov and we started a normal move.
"We wanted to take advantage from this occasion. The aim is to improve ourselves."
It seems Berbatov is now due to hold talks with Fulham with Martin Jol a big fan of the forward having worked with him during his time in charge of Tottenham.
______________
Fiorentina are pissed!

He never arrived in Florence, but he went to Italy though.
What the fuck!
You're right Chris, Fiorentina aren't happy to say the least.!

Can't blame them if there isn't much to the otherside of the story.

I'm sorry, have I really just heard an Italian club talk about "nothing to do with fair play and sporting ethics that go even beyond the confines of fairness."

The same Fiorentina who folded owing millions, didn't pay it back, instantly reformed as essentially the same club, skipped a division for no real reason and were back as good old Fiorentina in Seria A 2 years after ceasing to exist?
I know, not really "them" who did it, more the powers that be in Italy allowing it to happen, but still a mockery of everything about the game. Over here, if a club goes bust they re-start at the very bottom, and would take years to get back to the top flight.
Oh, and just to be fair, I actually went for Fiorentina back in the day, had their shirt and loved Batiogol and Rui Costa, so not picking them out, just found the whole epsiode where they could fold and be back at the same level in 2 seasons as an embarrasment.

Berba would fit in well at Fulham. Good club, they are.

Berba would fit in well at Fulham. Good club, they are. Yeah, agree. Would rather he went to Italy, for himself and because I don't want to see him play against us, but Fulham are a decent club, harmless enough, and they play good stuff. Not a team of cloggers, actually look to get the ball down and knock it around. And he'd be their star man, everything would go through him. He deserves that after being essentially a reserve here for the last 18 months,

Isn't there some sort of clause we can put in to prevent him playing against us?
That'd be a pretty somber occasion.
Though in all honesty, Italy would have been great but I'll be glad if he stays, he might really do damage to rivals and, more importantly, we've already played them once.
