NextGen Series is the u-19 equivalent to Champions League.. this competition wud provide young players a chance to compete against other european footballers of their age..wud be a massive improvement in terms of quality.. 16 teams have participated this season with aston villa, spurs, liverpool and city from england...inter(inaugral winners), celtic, barca, ajax were also involved...rumours that 7 more european clubs are interested in joining this competition next season..arsenal, milan, juve, bayern and madrid said to be interested wud be good if United joined the competition too..what do u guys think?

United turned down the chance of competing this year as the youth team were too young.
Its a good idea having a european comp for the kids to play in - get them used to facing different styles of football at a young age, but it all depends on how our young players are doing in terms of development and that.
City were woeful in it, and its telling that the eventual winners actually started the competition being hammered 7-1 by Spurs but then went on to only concede 4 more goals in their remaining 8 games.
EDIT - wouldnt mind that young Dane Fischer from Ajax though - he looked good and finished top scorer. Plus he bagged a hat-trick in their semi final drubbing of the scouse

Viktor Fischer looked next level good throughout the tournament, he stood out in the final too.
He scored 19 goals in 26 games for the u/17 Danish team and he's got 1 from 3 matches for the u19s. Seems that previous rumor regarding him and Eriksen was nothing more than speculation though.
Spurs looked well good too, they then had to withdraw or something because on of their players was too young? Or did I get it wrong?
Would love Utd to be in it next year!

will be very interesting to see how far our kids will go...but fergie thinks this competition wont last for long which is one of the main reasons he hasnt let United join the competition next year but as u said, the current youth team being too young might be another reason too anyways it'll be great if this tournament gains massive popularity in the future..i reckon it might be very good for english teams as we aren't exposed enough to continental football
