Watching Real it strikes me how football has swapped on in the last few years.
I always had them as a plaything club, just hoovering up any and all of the latest hot players as soon as they have a decent tournament. They never built a side like United did, bringing through youth, signing unknown risks, keeping the core of the team together for years; it was just throw money here there and everywhere.
Total opposite now. They've put together a really strong team, and have players who've been there long term, a player like Benzema is a prime example. There is a lot better options than him around, but he's doing a job for them and he's still there after several years.
In contrast we just seem to think spending as much as possible signing fantasy players is the way forward.
Anyway, thank fuck they won today, I couldn't handle waking up to Jordan fucking Henderson lifting the Champions League, with James cunting Milner alongside him.

Been on RAWK. They seem to have been watching a game where the plucky redmen went toe to toe with the mighty Madrid, only to be let down by a dodgy keeper.
As opposed to the game the rest of the world saw, where they had their arses handed to them.
