I think I heard the biggest load of boolocks around this transfer on Newstalk here in ireland last night. John Giles said that RVP only scored 30 goals last season because he knew his contract was up and he was putting himself in the shop window. However, I think RvP will be more motivated than ever seeing he is in a club which has the potential of winning the league, domestic cup and european cup.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says neighbours United are favourites to win the Premier League - because they have two of the best strikers.

The Red Devils have bought Robin van Persie from Arsenal for £24m and will pair him up front with Wayne Rooney.
