'13' is free, maybe not the best number for someone considered injury-prone. Maybe make Hernandez 13 so van Persie can be our Dutchman 14? Or ask Giggsy to take another number so we can make RvP #11. (I quite like how Scholesy has gone back to the number he wore when he first broke into the first team proper.) Actually, what even was Giggsy's first squad number?

Until he leaves he should not be stripped off that number. That would be utterly disrespectful. For a 30 million pound, top league goalscorer and fan favourite to behave the way he has after the way he's been treated is remarkable. We would do well to reciprocate at least some of that respect.

I hope we can give RvP a decent number, but in reality does it matter? I'd quite like a real re-shuffle, Hernandez to 13, Ando to 14, Rooney back to 8, and RvP to 10. But that's never happening!

I also think we are now going to see Wazza playing the best football of his career. He will play in the hole behind RVP. Because RVP will frighten the shite out of every defender weplay against they will naturally retreat towards their own goal somewhat. This will leave wazza with more room to do his magic from deep.
