michael owen @themichaelowen
The Manager informed me after our testimonial match on Tuesday that the club would not be offering me a new contract.

Its on sky sports now.
No surprise really. Can imagine he was a good influence in the dressing room, but that's not enough to pay him a wage. Bit of a shame although I'm not exactly gutted. I imagine he'll retire now. Don't think any clubs will come in forr him. He has a good thing going with his horse racing.
Cheers for the City and Carling cup final goals Micky O.

Means we'll almost certainly be buying a new striker, losing two experienced strikers, I say promote Will Keane and bring in one experienced striker.

Yup definitely a striker coming, unless we hold on to Berba. Maybe Del Piero for a year or two?

Berba is definitely leaving, wouldn't be surprised to see him used in a swap deal with another club, maybe Dortmund if they're losing Lewandowski.
Number 7 available again then. Need a big player to fill that shirt, can't see it going to Nani or Valencia.

Yeah, that derby winner will live long in the memory Mickey! I'm fairly sure he'll grind out another 2 years at another club, he said so himself recently, he feels he still has 2 seasons in him. Why not an MLS club?
I reckon there's some truth to the Lewandowski rumors, contract till 2014 and he's said himself there's not much more he can achieve at Dortmund.

MLS would be a good move for him. He said he doesn't like feeding off scraps as a forward so realistically he'll be at a lower end premier league club if he stayed here which he wouldn't really enjoy.

Apologies Chris. Maybe the sleep's getting to me so I didn't notice this thread.
So thanks again Michael. Don't go back to Liverpool. Or City!

I highly doubt he'll leave the country, will want to stay around for his horses. Either way he's been a true professional, if only ever player was like him!

Top bloke.
He's had some good memories at the club, city goal obviously toping the list.
Pity about his injury situation.
Would MLS clubs be interested in an injury prone player?

Shame this didn't work out as we'd hoped.
Still, we'll always have THAT goal and his imperious hat-trick vs Wolfsburg.
