You do make a valid point.

Personally i don't think we would have let Ji Sung Park go to QPR unless we were bringing another midfielder in.

Kagawa is the more established player, Powell probably more for the future- although i do think he'll probably get first team football this year.

I think we're most probably looking for another midfielder alongside Kagawa.

Money-wise? If Fergie wants the player enough he'll probably get him, Park's departure may free the boss up slightly with the funds.

What are you basing it on that we don't have more than £35mill cash? Do you have some extra knowledge on the Utd accounts? Last I heard we have £65mill cash in there, plus we have some corporate overdraft thing where we can raise another £75mill if needed too, or sell bonds. not to mention wer eon the brink of selling of part of the club for a lot of money. When Fergie says the moneys there if he needs it, I believe him. Sure we arent in the position to gratuitously over-pay though. Even if we dont spend a big wedge on a midfielder, we should be looking to bring in someone. We've dicked around for 5 years, nows the time to stop dithering.


This Baines rumour just doesn't seem to go away, remind me a bit of young last year. I'd be quite happy if it does come through, we are in dire need of another LB. Not that I wish to keep banging the drum, but some people are still reluctant to admit that Evra just wasn't that good for like... 2 years. Keeping faith and not dropping him didn't help, time to go the other way get some competition and make him fight for his place. If he continues as he has done, you could argue a LB will be almost as important as a midfielder for us.

Well, dogso, we've lost Park, Owen, Fletcher (most likely will not return) and we were short on midfield anyway even with these guys. So I think we most definitely have the cash to spend for at least one more 20+ signing. Besides, history has shown (according to eurosport news) whenever we go through a trophyless year, we usually spend a bit more than what we usually do.

I wish we would play our normal game against the top sides. You play your best 11 in the big games. The only exception should be against Barca and possibly Madrid to help nullify attacking threats.

If we do sign Baines, I think he and Evra to rotate this season, and next season I can see Evra being sold and Fabio playing second fiddle to Baines.

That's because you give one year to the ABU's to slang us with no trophies and then the following season back to the old gold "you bought the cup" routine.

Everyone needs a break from time to time or the routine will get boring you know.

I'd been told we were hoping he'd be in by now. Everton are dragging their heels over a fee, understandably, as they'd need to find a replacement. I guess now we're looking at maybe after the games in Africa.
