Young is nowhere close to Nani.

Just for arguments sake how many people here think Young is better than Nani? In my opinion Young isn't even close to Nani. Agree 100%

Quite a lot of tabloids saying we're well up for this lad with some mentioning bids.
Don't know much about him but after checking some vids I'm not too convinced about this kid, what exactly makes him so incredible?

whats even more baffling is the mail saying we have had a 30 million bid rejected and we are willing to higher. surely on these ridiculous valuations 50 million is about right for nani, and 80 million for ronaldo was a steal

Looks like pure Journo BS as there are no quotes in it whatsoever

i should think so, the figures are mind boggling more especially when we are the only club that have been linked with him. the scousers were mentioned just 24 hours ago but who wants to go there

Seen a 17.5mill bid for Johnson mentioned somewhere from the rat-munchers.

Yeah, saw something similar SET, their initial 15 mil bid was ''rejected''.
If we "want" to spend 30+ million on an unproven winger then I've no idea what our transfer strategy is these days. We could've had Hazard for that cash, bullet dodged, hopefully in both cases.

Bloody @caughtoffside' is just trash...I never read anything if it is attributed to that poece of garbage....there may be other sites who spout crap but this is the one that is consistently ridiculous and there is neve a quote anywhere from anyone....it's just like a bunch of blokes down the pub making up stories that are nothing more than speculation....
P.S. I don't thik Ando cost £27m did he?

Fair enough....I was under the impression it was more around the £17m mark...just checked...seems it was £25.5m....quite a lot at the time... EDIT: £25.5m was for Nani...I have found a source that says £17m but if anyone knows different? Double edit: If this is correct www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/manchester-united-transfers.html then Nani cost £13.5m and Ando cost £15m...that sounds mnore like it surely??

On 29 June 2007, he was granted a work permit to play in the United Kingdom, and the move was completed on 2 July, with Anderson signing a five-year contract to become United's second Brazilian player after Kléberson.[18] The transfer fee Porto announced was €30 million,[19] which was equivalent to around £25.6 million as of May 2007.[17]
