Doesn't Daly play CDM for his Country? I would also like to see him playing there, and perhaps TFM as well

| EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS 09/10/2016 09:00, Report by Mark Froggatt CARRICK NAMES HIS BEST TEAM-MATE AT UNITED
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has identified club legend Paul Scholes as his greatest-ever team-mate at Old Trafford.
The 35-year-old, now in his 11th season with the Reds, revealed that opinion in the ‘Football & Me’ section of his recent exclusive interview with our official match programme United Review. Check out Carrick's answers to our quick-fire round of questions… First football match you ever attended…
It was a Newcastle game – I think it was against QPR and at St James’ Park. It was in the old First Division. First team you ever played for at any level…
Wallsend Boys Club. A great little club. Greatest player you’ve played with…
Alongside me, I’d have to say Scholesy. Best goal you ever scored…
Well, the most important one was probably away to Wigan in 2009 as it helped us win the league title. I’ll say that one. Proudest moment in football…
The best moment has to be winning the Champions League final against Chelsea in Moscow. It doesn’t get better than that. Matchday rituals...
Not so much, no. Some players have them, but not me. Match you’d like to go back and play again…
The Champions League final in Moscow, for obvious reasons. It was a very special night. Football’s greatest-ever player…
It’s a tough one to pick, that. It has probably got to be Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Michael Carrick was talking to United Review on 19 August. www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Exclusive-Interviews/2016/Oct/Michael-Carrick-answers-Football-and-Me-questions-with-United-Review.aspx?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=ManUtd

I would also like to see him playing there, and perhaps TFM as well Exactly , Blind has all the attributes to succeed in that role long term , good passer , reads the game , technically good and composed. I think TFM should be a good replacement for valencia at RB , but he really needs to get game time. Too good a player to remain at United without getting minutes.

Carrick's replacement is going to be the key for us this and the coming seasons ,always beautiful to watch how he makes the team tick ,controlling the tempo , starting off attacks , bringing other players into the match, all of that in such an understated way.

We just need a time machine or something to reverse his age...we need another 5 years out of him...
...or more realistically a really good replacement...

I have to share this cause this too good to be left where i found it. That comment is from a football forum and the member is a united fan that i've known in there for years.check this out,i couldnt stop laughing:
😂😂😂😂 "Carrick this, Carrick that... Is everyone here born in the 90s? For a long time he was only a fringe player; his only plus being a C+ Scholes' version vision of the game and quality passing. UTD always had fantastic passers of the ball culture - and all over! Nowadays you hardly see those inch perfect long diagonal passes that open up defenses and seeing how lumbering, unimposing Carrick has everyone raving here, gives me pause to realise how low UTD has fallen. On a more positive note tho, you can see Pogba being a product of our academy in his long passing. It's unmistakable"

Ok Antoine Griezmann's a very decent instinctive striker with plenty of footie brains; however imo he lacks pace, physicality and mental strength. The lad often crumbles under pressure in big occasions."

The guy that made these comments has been drinking that delusional kool-aid that they serve in Scouseville, I think that Carrick is so silky smooth that a lot of fans don't realize just how good he is, seems to be 2 seconds ahead of everyone when seeing what is happening. Never a wasted step, always seems to be exactly where he needs to be. Personally, there are players that draw big money, and headlines, that are not at the same level of quality that Carrick is. Anyone calling him "World Class" would get no argument from me, his quality is well noted by players that are themselves world class.

Spot on, but I remember him regularly getting slated on here in the early days! I think the only reason he got slated is because he wasn't Paul Scholes...more importantly, when he played with the Ginger Prince, he seemed to go into his shell somewhat...it has taken a little while for him to get out of Scholesy's shadow and for fans to appreciate his quality and what he offers to the team...
