Would be interested in a thread on player/fan interactions . I collect autographs and am always curious what players are fan friendly or are jerks, Just came back from vegas met penn and teller after their show {nice guys} pics and autos. Also met pete rose signing at a sports store {ok but all about signing for money} 50 bucks to sign a baseball! Mls allstar game tomorrow, heading into city to try to get some autos tomorrow. Of all the players I've ever met, Choccy McClair was an absolute asshole I'm sorry to say. Perhaps he was just having a bad day. We met Choccy after the F. A. Cup final in 2007, he was actually dead on. This was after the team end of season dinner though, and he did have a bit of a ruddy face. . . Martin Edwards is one of the most genuine, down-to-earth, and generally nicest men I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Proper United supporter too.

Of all the United players I've met, the two most humble and down to earth were Eric and Sir Bobby. Crerand was a total joker as well - I told him I was a history graduate and he ripped me to shreds in front of everyone for not knowing the date of the battle of bannockburn!

I met Choc at the cliff - perhaps he'd just had a rough session! Maybe Schmikes had just given him a dressing down, who knows? Either way, no need to take it out on a young fan! Didn't hold it against him though. Still a top player.

Met him a couple of times. First time was in a lift in a hotel for one of the Worthless Cup Finals, he forgot his room number and had to check with the other MUTV commentator of the time. Turns to me and says, 'I'm as thick as two bloody planks you know!' Second time he had given a speech at some sports do and spoke to him afterwards for ages. Knew a lot about United, and football, and had no bother chatting about the club and the game with a 16 (? - about that I think I was) year old supporter. I'd love to meet Geoffrey Boycott actually, talk cricket and United with him!

Not met any United players, but met a few Geordies players up there. Gazza was spot on, he knew my mam's family and had a crack about that, really nice bloke. Met Don Hutchison and Steve Stone as well, and they were kinda wankers. Pretty cold and not interested in saying hello.
Met John Burridge and Pavel Srnicek as well for a talk in night, Burridge was a good laugh, telling us about staying in the next hotel room to Andy Gray one night and he never got a wink of sleep as Gray was banging some bird all night, loud as fuck. Srnicek was pretty reserved, but he did defend Cantona after Selhurst Park (this was only a couple of months later) and said the ban was too harsh and people should get off Eric's back. So respect to him just for that,
