I can imagine it already... put him on as a sub for the last 20s of the game - hoof the ball up and let Usain sprint to the other end for a tap in. He'd be useless for the other 89mins 40s of the game though.  |

What exactly is the significance of a retweet and more followers?
I recently joined twitter for sports updates, pretty cool, but I honestly dont get what people get out of having more followers, advertising opportunities or something?
Within a day of creating my account I had 6 followers, whom I don't know at all and I'm fairly sure are from Asia, 4 of them asked me to "follow back".

What you have done here is basically put your finger on the whole problem. The fact is there are 1000s of children and Bob Cass on twitter who strive for social acceptance in real life but fail so use twitter as thier social domain. Therefore 90% of 'transfernewscentral' 'agent007' 'football inside' 'bob Cass' are kids after followers - they hazard a guess at a transfer story and usually involve united because we have a lot of interested people on twitter and hope you accidentally get it correct. If you don't you simply sound surprised at the 'twist'. If you read a particular 'It's understood that...' you will find most of them originate from on source usually a joke or another kid with 2 followers. A great example this kid called eplagent007: Monday: my sources understand man utd will sign rvp on Thursday Tuesday; negotiations going smoothly between AF And RVP Tuesday afternoon: I understand RVP May have been pursuaded to stay at arsenal following talks with Af People were livid but he just blames his sources or unforeseen twists - people say 'you said he would sign' he replies 'no I didn't dont lie' and this has happened time after time but somehow he commands nearly 20k followers! |
