Age-wise he fits the bill.
Whether or not we're actually bringing him in remains to be seen.

Mexican club say they've met with Manchester United regarding Héctor Herrera transfer sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/mexican-club-say-they-ve-met-with-manchester-united-regarding-hecManchester United's summer spending may not be over just yet as links with the Premier League side and Héctor Herrera continue to grow by the day. It started off as small reports in the Mexican press about a week ago and has built from there to being a main story in that country and also getting picked up by the media here. Now his club, Pachuca, want Manchester United to follow up on their initial interest and make a bid for the player. Andres Fassi is quoted by Medio Tiempo as saying "There is interest in Manchester that we have been dealing with for a while, they confirmed their interest after Mexico won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, but we have not yet received a formal proposal in terms of finances." Fassi is Pachuca's vice president and it was he who first revealed the interest when he claimed both Manchester United and Liverpool had sent scouts to watch the player in the past, and that interest had built because of his performances for Mexico in the 2012 Olympics. The vice president also confirmed to Medio Tiempo that Pachuca director Marco Garces has spoken to Manchester United about the situation "They have spoken to us, including Marco Garces who was in Manchester and met with them, but all that has not been made official, we haven't received a formal offer." Héctor Herrera is currently recovering from an injury he picked up during the Olympics and won't be fit until next month.

No t necessarily. Depends on the injury. Carroll, for example, was injured when Liverpool bought him.

Jonas on twitter said that he is "like a hunting dog and if the ball gets past him he doesn't stop until he wins it back and he knows exactly what to do with it once he gets it". Jonas hasn't seen him, but asked someone who had.
allegedly, the player knows nothing about any such bid..

don't start mockthezuma, he does watch a lot of south American football and called the henriquez transfer about 3 weeks ago. he contacted someone who has watched Mexican football quite a bit.
Jonas did not give the "player is unaware of any bids" info. just want to make that clear..

And I won't And I've got my fair share of stick from people here for posting things I've found on twitter before so I guess what goes around comes around, or something like that...
