The press has reported that both Alessandro Del Piero and Emile Heskey declined last minute, deal-sabotaging offers from Liverpool FC to join their new A-League clubs in Australia.
I can just imagine their agents, "weigh it up lads, you can join the "mighty" LFC in the PL plus with European Cup nights on far better money than your other offers, or take the pay cut and play in the football wilderness with Sydney/Newcastle FC where they call the game soccer and get average gates of around 8,000."
Obviously a "no-brainer" as they both signed down here!
