We appear to be signing a whole lot of excellent young players. It will be interesting to see how they integrate... Aye, we seem to actually have a strategy for the Academy right now. It usually tends to be the case when football people are the ones taking the decisions, like Butt does for the Academy.

It’s good to see...we are always moaning about teams that buy these young players and we have to pay a fortune when they develop...it would be great and it is much more satisfying to get first team players from our academy or youth teams...

Absolutely, if Dortmund or RB Leipzig were making these signings we'd be moaning why we weren't in for them, and how we'll end up bidding 100M+ in 3 years time.

Reading The Guardians "Next Generation" articles today. They do a pick of each clubs best young player each year going back to 2014, interesting to see how they've come on, if at all.
2014 was Marcus Rashford. Fair to say they got that one bang on the money.
2015 Callum Gribbin. Hmm. Bit off the mark there.
2016 Angel Gomes. Time will tell how well he goes on to do.
2017 Arnau Puigmal. Still here, not hearing much noise about him being one for the 1st team though.
2018 Mason Greenwood. Another bang on.
2019 Dillon Hoogewerf. We'll see.
2020 Marc Jurado. Can't help but feel maybe they just picked the kid we signed from Barcelona thinking "Well, he must be good".

Exciting team! This is going to be interesting. Just put it on. How's the new boy looking? Looked good in the first half. Had a good chance of scoring but the keeper saved it. Likes to get involved, has a really good touch and good speed. It's been said befoelre but I think his style resembles that of David Silva. Plays as RW tonight but I think he'll eventually play more in the middle.
