Yup, I think it's quality and well worth borrowing, but then again people have different tastes. I'd also recommend Boardwalk Empire/Dexter/Californication/Entourage....you won't get bored at work with these ;D

I've watched the first 6 episodes. Really enjoying it. If nothing else, people should watch it simply because it has Inigo Montoya in it - that automatically makes it bad ass.

I just hope none of those terrorists killed his father, otherwise they're done for.

The first season was superb Carb, one of the best things I'd seen on TV for ages. The second is ok but any sublety seems to have been completely taken out of it and the characters, who had been really well drawn became secondary to increasingly outlandish plots.

I agree that the second season isn't as good, but that's only because season one is ridiculously good TV. Season two is different because, like you say, they've moved the focus away from subtlety and character interactions to plot developments. But if the show had started with the second season I'd still be raving about it.
I do, however, disagree about the outlandish plots remark. I didn't think it was outlandish.

Don't get me wrong, the 2nd season is still good but as you say, season 1 set the bar very high.
MASSIVE SPOILER ALERTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Outlandish plots
1. Worlds most wanted terrorist waltzes into America to oversee attack. He manages this by shaving off his beard. 2. Brody kills the VP by giving Nazir the code to his pacemaker. His pacemaker. 3.On the day of his most important speech, the potential running mate of VP disappears for a couple of hours to perform a little bit of housecleaning in Gettysburg. That involves killing someone in the woods. Imagine Joe Biden doing this. 4. It was all just a huge trojan horse from start to finish as the attack on Langley was Nazir real target. Think about how many implauibles there are in that. 5. Despite the most wanted clean-shaven terrorist in the world being foiled, presumably there would be fairly strict security for the VP's funeral. Not so, as a bomb in the shape of car is allowed to be driven to the target by Brody. A known terrorist who is now a double/triple agent. Who the CIA want to kill. Do they just allow him a coupe of hours off surveillance each day to perform nefarious deeds?
These are a couple off the top of my head. If they aren't outlandish then bar Sci Fi I don't know what is!

**SPOILERS""
Actually, when you put it like that, I can understand. I guess that I was enjoying it so much that I didn't really question any of it. Though regarding number 5 - wasn't it at Langley, which is a large town, so it's feasible that the security was there, just at a wider perimeter. Also, aren't we being led to believe that there's a mole.
And the CIA doesn't want to kill Brodie, that's off the books.

The head of the CIA wants him dead as i'm sure various factions within it do also.
Langley may well be a town but in all honesty. if a major terrorist attacj=k had been averted in America and a few days later there was a funeral for a former CIA head that had been a crusader against terrorism, don't you think security would have been insanely high? As all the major players in the agency would be there. Thus presenting a huge target for every other terrorist across the globe. A known (to the CIA) former terrorist in Brody would have found it very difficult to gain entry. And if he did he (and his car by extension) would have been under watch. Constantly.
It was a fine tv show this year. Problem is, season 1 was one of the best shows I've seen in years so the drop off was steep.

this show kind of fell off a cliff for me about 6 episodes into season 1, about the time they went to the cabin for a bunk-up. they just fly through stuff so quickly. the 4 week surveillance period of brodies house could have ran the length of the season.
it's a good show if you ignore the cheap plot turns and the questionable stuff stew talks about. early on I thought it was going to be something very special though, on a par with The Wire. still - we could be in for some bourne style stuff in season 3 with him on the run.
